During World War I, Eichmann’s family migrated from Germany to Linz, Austria. Upon the arrival, he worked as a traveling salesman in Upper Austria for an oil company but lost his job during the Great Depression. He then went ahead and joined the Nazi Party and then later on joined the terrorist school of the Austrian Legion at Lechfeld, Germany. He was attached to an SS unit and advanced steadily within the SS.
Adolf Eichmann was a high-ranking Nazi German official and war criminal. He played a major role during the Holocaust, he played a central role in the implementation of the “Final Solution. He organized the deport of more than 1.5 million Jews from all over Europe to ghettos, killing centers, and killing sites in German-occupied Poland and parts of the occupied Soviet Union.
After World War II, Eichmann was arrested by American authorities but managed to escape by using fake identity papers. Israel got wind of the information that he escaped to Argentina. However, Argentina as a country is firm with extradition processes and wouldn’t have allowed Eichmann to be extradited to Israel even if Israel informed them. Upon this, Israel then decided to seek another way which is only through smuggling to bring the man to Israel to stand trial.
