Story 5 out of 5 - superb, loved it! But Yellow Rose (RCE) - Publisher - hang your head in shame! Editing was awful, layout frankly a disgrace and to charge £8 plus for a book that badly prepared shows a stunning lack of customer care.
This book was not for me. It just seemed like a hodgepodge of incidents kind of thrown together. I always feel guilty when I don’t like a book but I found myself not interested in reading This to the end.
Pros: Strong representation and interpretation of what EMTs do, I really enjoyed reading the actions and medical lingua. Cons: It just seemed too sapho centric... How realistic is it that every noteworthy character in the book are all lesbians and they all end up living happily ever after? In turn, it was unnecessarily long thus somewhat boring especially 3/4 onwards
I really liked this book, some will say that the passages on the interventions are very long, I do not find, on the contrary, we put in the little firemen and paramedics and that is what is interesting. What I liked the most is the candor and kindness of the two main characters. that's what made me move forward in the book despite some lengths. These 2 women are kind, their relationship is filled with love, respect, it's beautiful to see, very beautiful. Book to read absolutely ...
The advice "show don't tell" is one often given to authors and bears repeating here. I enjoyed the details about calls, but they did not serve enough purpose to warrant their inclusion - at least to the level of specifics given. They should provide more insight into the characters instead of appearing to be events on a timeline. I will read more by this author, but believe trimming, better guidance from editors and a tighter plot would benefit her great ideas.
