Is it a Dream Wedding or a Bad Dream?
Geek girl Lexi Carmichael thought getting married would be just a formality. But when the guests are the pope, the president of the United States, and the first lady, she’d soon find out that weddings, much like life, do not always go as planned.

Getting married to Slash in the church was supposed to be a joyous occasion and a chance for our families to get together and celebrate. We left no wedding detail to chance, hiring the same wedding planner the president recently used for his daughter’s wedding. Between the wedding planner, my mom, my best friend, and the Secret Service, I felt confident we were prepared for every possible contingency. I secretly begged my little black cloud of trouble to take the week off.

Yet, even the best laid plans can go awry…or get smashed, pulverized and blown to pieces. When total chaos erupts, it becomes increasingly clear someone is using our wedding as an opportunity for their own nefarious agenda. But who is the target and why? More importantly, how do we stop them?

Soon it’s a race against time to find the dangerous mastermind and thwart his vile plans. From the White House to the Vatican to a small church in rural Maryland, someone is determined to stop us from getting married. But suddenly, we’re not just fighting the bad guys. The media, paparazzi, and public-at-large have got wind of the story and are determined to uncover the identities of the powerful couple at the center of the international media whirlwind. It’s going to take everything we’ve got, including the help of our family and friends, to get us to the church on time…preferably alive.

It seems hard to believe, but this is the 14th entry in the Lexi Carmichael mystery series, featuring “Geek Girl” turned super spy Lexi. In this episode, Lexi is scheduled to get married to the mysterious Slash, the brilliant secret government tech spy/hacker. I absolutely love this series and eagerly await each new entry. This book did not disappoint; it’s a DIK for me!

The action begins quickly on the day of Lexi and Slash’s rehearsal dinner. Lexi’s finding it hard to pay attention to her best friend Basia’s preparations for everything wedding-related. Lexi just doesn’t care. As she says herself, she’s a geek girl, a hacker and computer programmer. And of course, the secret service is there to check out the preparations, as the First Lady will be attending the rehearsal dinner, and the Pope, President, and First Lady attending the wedding. Things are bound to be a bit chaotic. But just how chaotic we soon find out.

All hell breaks out during the rehearsal dinner, when a team of foreign attackers (we have no idea who they are or who they’re trying to take out) launch an all-out assault on the event. Since the dinner guests include Seals, government agents, and police officers, as well as all the Secret Service agents there to protect the First Lady, the guests hold off the attackers, but take a lot of hits. But what will happen between the rehearsal dinner and the wedding?

I had less interest in the few chapters told from the POV of Russians, but fortunately they weren’t extensive. The remaining chapters alternated between the POV of Lexi and Slash. I love how smart these two are, and how smart and competent all their friends are.

I’m really hoping this isn’t the end of the series, as I want to keep visiting with Lexi and all her friends. They’ve all grown and changed so much over the course of the series but remain at their cores the same people they were in the first book. I suppose this could read as a standalone, but you would miss out on so much if you did. We catch up with so many characters who have appeared throughout the series and get to appreciate how everyone has changed (including Lexi’s relationship with her mother). This was just delightful.

I must say that only Lexi and Slash could have such a danger-laden wedding. I mean, they have assassination attempts, shootouts, broad-daylight drone attacks, and...just SO MUCH. Given that their guest list includes the President and First Lady AND the Pope, this is a little problematic.

That said, not only are Lexi and Slash the perfect people to be facing off against the bad guy (even if it does happen during their big event) with their big brains and quick reflexes, but there are enough military trained guests on the premises to make things innnnnntersting. Well, I'm sure the bad guys don't find their abilities interesting since this wedding party does not make it easy for them to complete their objective.

Let's just say there are several dangerous situations, more than a few international considerations, and a whole lot of family and friends that Lexi and Slash are determined to keep safe. Unraveling the hows and whys of these attacks keeps our two love bugs (and various other members of the wedding party) on their toes and doing what they do best. *thumbs up*

disaster plans are a go, go,go!!!

Will everyone really need to implement their assigned disaster plans before the end of the wedding festivities?
Lexi’s little black cloud might just ruin her wedding yet.
Guns, drones, explosions and more !!! I’m not sure if this is a wedding or the end of days!!!
I’ll just have to see what happens next lol at least with Lexi we always know it will be entertaining.

Hope this isn’t the end of the series. Please read the Lexi Carmichael series in order. The characters are revealed and grow develop relationships over the series. With each new adventure Lexi is more endearing; smart, funny, quirky. Sharing exploits she gets to know intriguing people and forms ever stronger relationships. Many are characters I wish could step off the page and into my life.

Car Chases, and Drone Flights, and Bad Guys, Oh My!

by Barbara Kelley

I absolutely, positively love this series. I absolutely love Lexi and Slash. Once again Lexi's little black cloud is on the warpath, or is it there to help Lexi this time? Beginning with a Russian assassin in the first chapter overlooking a reception wedding party for Lexi and Slash at a famous inn, we know that somebody is a target for assassination. There are 24 guests at the reception, including the First Lady, and, therefore, there are police security and Secret Service agents, protecting the First Lady. Then there are Lexi's mom, dad, and two older brothers; Slash's mom, dad, and Father Armando, as well as his two brothers and their significant others; Lexi's best friends, Basia, Elvis, and Xavier, and Elsie's girlfriend, Gwen; and Navy Seal friends of Lexi's, Hands and Gray; and a good friends of Slash, Girl from Italy, and his German friend. The wedding is supposed to be in 5 days, and the President, First Lady as special guests, and the Holy Father is coming from Italy to officiate the wedding at St. Michael's Catholic Church. One crisis after another occurs, first the assassins at the inn, then drones attacking a motorcade that does not have the First Lady in it, then another drone chasing Lexi, Slash, Elvis, and Xavier, as they lead the drone away from the church, and a Russian assassin that plans on releasing a deadly nerve agent into the stream near St. Michael's Church that will kill everyone within a five mile radius. Will Lexi and Slash be able to save the wedding day and thousands of people's lives? And don't discount Elvis Zimmerman. The man is a literal genius and saves Lexi and Slash with his quick thinking. I had it figured out who the bad guys' target was about halfway through the book. Will you figure it out, too? I gave this book a whopping 5 star rating.

Wow. And I thought my wedding was fraught with problems. Lexi’s little black cloud of trouble develops into a full blown thunderstorm the week of her wedding and the usual chaos ensues. Many old friends reappear and new ones are added as the secret service, Vatican security and the local sheriff try to prevent terrorists, or are they assassins, from preventing Lexi &Slash from finally having their church wedding. It almost feels like Julie Moffett is tying up all the loose ends with a farewell to the series, but there are some happy moments that make me believe that this isn’t the end of one of my all time favorite series. If you like great characters, moments of laugh out loud funny, and intelligent writing, read this series…it’s a cross between a mystery and a spy novel, action packed & full of fun. And if you’re new to the series, while it is a standalone, No Vow Broken will make much more sense if you’ve read some of the previous books in the series. Enjoy! And thank you Julie for another amazing book…. When does the next one come out?

Book 14 of Geek Girl Series, Lexi Carmichael is great. Author, Julie Moffett is funny and knows her code. So, who is behind the attempts on the President and First Lady? Or are they the targets? Maybe it’s the Pope, who is coming to officiate at Slash and Lexi’s official wedding. Wow! The attempted assassinations keep coming. Soon, it becomes clear that someone else might be the target. Drones are involved and the Secret Service. Lexi’s adventures are worth the wait. But, the wedding planner seems to be involved in the plot or is she? I love this series and all the kooky characters involved in Slash and Lexi’s orbit. Makes me want to go back and read the first book where they meet for the first time. The dialogue is clever, and Lexi finally seems to understand her mother better. Everyone is there for the wedding. Enjoy Book 14 but if you are new to the series, you really need to start at the beginning to understand the dynamics. Great read!

Hold on to your book.

What ever you do, make sure you have at least a whole day to start reading the latest Lexi and Company adventure.

Lexi's little black cloud really should be used up after this event. From a shotgun wedding rehearsal dinner to the wedding ceremony itself, that pesky cloud tries to rain on everyone.

For me, the most touching part was Lexi realizing she was giving her Mother what she had always wanted: sharing fashion. I would love to see a picture of Lexi in her wedding finery after her Mother and Basia finished getting Lexi ready.

The unexpected, laugh out loud moments add the right amount of tension release at just the right time.

The overall story line makes me wonder if Ms. Moffett might not be a secret government agent.

This is one book I will read again and again. Hopefully, there will be more adventures for Lexi and Slash.

Another Lexi book, number 14 already. I still love and adore Lexi, Slash and all of their friends and family. In this book Lexi and Slash tie the knot (spoiler: again) and as always things do not go as planned.

I do think that although there was enough action, it was a bit of the same through the book. We know Lexi and the others are smart and can hack and save themselves out of many situations. I just was not really blown away as with for example 'No place like Rome' or 'No test for the wicked'. Wow has this author written some heartpounding books.... such great adventures. So it felt a bit duller now.

But of course it is so nice to be back with the gang and see them all so happy that I still enjoyed it a whole lot! And can't wait for the next. Or maybe a whole new series!

No Vow Broken is another amazing action-adventure novel with tons of laughs by one of my favorite authors, Julie Moffett. I started to say nonstop action, but thank goodness, Ms. Moffett shares those moments that take this series above the action-adventure norm. A drunken proposal poem, a love song to melt anyone's heart, mother moments, and wedding worries slide between terrifying danger and heroic efforts. The Lexi Carmichael Mystery series is like none other and each book is words different from others in the series. All our regular favorite characters are back and several more that I for one was delighted to see again. A winner in all ways!

This was a fantastic read with ALL the characters!

Such a great book in one of my all-time favorite series. Lexi and Slash are the best book couple…and the cast of characters all came together to see them marry…in the church. Seriously, I laughed and even tested up a little at one part.

I am not a computer geek nor can I write code, but these books are just so entertaining and Julie Moffett clearly does her research …she is very smart & I suspect could give Lexi a run for her money.

I don’t ever want this series to end and hope there is a book 15..16…and so on. If you haven’t read these books…grab them now-you will not regret it!

Unputdownable

I LOVED this book. We got to hear from all of our favorite characters, add a whole lot more to the black cloud spreadsheet all while having all the feels. I don't want to accidentally post a spoiler, so not giving much more. READ IT. I highly recommend. I wish I could give bonus stars. Each disaster was well written, fast paced and exciting. I love how her friends and family came together in an attempt to mitigate the black cloud occurrences. Funny, sweet, dangerous and so much more.

High flying and action packed

The adventure getting to the alter was awesome! Some old friends from prior adventures made it to the wedding. Lexi and her mom continue on their new found bonding journey. High profile guests abound. Then there is the enemy attacks, drones, hacking, wardrobe malfunctions, and some added excitement of the more mundane variety. My only wish now is for less time between books. 😁 I know it takes time to get it right and this book was definitely done right. Thanks Julie!!!!!!

Buckle up... it's a wild and nonstop ride

Lexi and Slash's American Wedding is just what you would expect.
from the moment the book starts to the last possible moment is a madcap adventure. With. So many dignitaries in attendance, trying to even figure out who the target is consumes a lot of their time . Yet through it all Lexi and Slash are one unit. Their love Is solid, their support of each other is unflinching . Add on to that the support of all of their friends and family make this a wonderful roller coaster to ride.

Freaking AWESOME book!!

Another wonderful, funny, well written, interesting, captivating and all around GREAT book by Julie Moffett!!! The stories keep getting better and better! This is a book you can read as a standalone, but it is 100% better if you read the previous books in the series. The character development that shows in the book is outstanding. You truly can not go wrong reading any book by Julie Moffett!!

Lexi Carmichael is one of my favorite characters in any series! She is exceptional, but very human which makes the character completely relatable.

A suspenseful and wonderful read!

I thoroughly enjoyed the newest chapter in Lexi and Slash’s story. We were treated to a suspenseful story entwined with the sweetness of a heroine who has grown fully into herself, her relationships, and her strengths with love and integrity. It was a joyful reunion with some favorite characters from previous book. Thank you, Julie Moffett, for another delightful book!

Love this series! Please give us more!!

I absolutely love this series! I hope there will be more in the series. My brother, sister, and I always look forward to each new book. Even though I'm not into computers or gaming, I love seeing a book portraying Geeks as people of courage and feeling. And, as always, a great adventure as they save the day again. Glad to see Hands make an appearance. Please, give us more.

Yass!

Best Lexi Carmichael mystery yet! Lexi, Slash, and many old friends reunite in what is supposed to be a small and relatively calm wedding weekend. Enter the little back cloud and a mysteries plot leading to action, adventure, mystery, plot twists (and multiple alphabet agencies). This is met by friendship, love and humor, and of course major combined brain power and other special skills for an exciting read!

Another “WOW” Lexi Carmichael Experience

Each Lexi Carmichael adventure from author Julie Moffett gets twistier and twistier, and sucks the reader in earlier and harder. Julie’s ability to (seemingly?) predict future national and international events has us wondering just how much control she might actually have over said events, or, at least, in what “informed” circles she moves.
Thanks for another gem.

Fabulous as always

This is one of my favorite series and I am anxiously awaiting each new book coming out. Lexi and Slash are finally getting officially married, what could go wrong? Plenty! I didn't want to put this book down, there was so much going on. I hope Julie Moffett keeps putting out great books in this series as they are always well-written, interesting, and action-packed.

Will the wedding bells finally ring?

Spoiler alert! They do. But the road to matrimony is paved with some pretty spectacular bumps. What's next for Lexi and Slash? A triplet pregnancy and a kidnapping. As Slash rescues Lexi in a remote cabin near the Arctic circle, Lexi goes into labor . Slash delivers the infants. Haha! With these two (three if you count the little black cloud), anything can and will happen! Can't wait for the next book!!!

So exciting.

It’s the week before Slash and Lexi’s wedding and there are plans for intimate lunchs and dinners with everyone from The Pope to the US President to S&L’s special friends and family members not on the guest list. Butting in on several occasions, seems to be an assassin with exciting plans of his own. Can Slash and Lacy live and save the world, as well saying their “I Do”s?

Lexi is back!

It feels as if I’ve waited forever for this book! I loved seeing what misadventures Lexi and Slash had to face! Their family and friends are the best and support and help them along the way. I wished for more hacking by the team but that’s the only fault I had with this book. I can’t wait for Lexi and Slash’s next adventure!!!

Now Vow Broken had everything that one has come to expect of a Lexi Carmichael novel by the brilliant Julie Moffett. Unlike some series plagued by plot holes that leave readers wanting answers, No Vow Broken only leaves you wanting to read Lexi’s next adventure. I cannot wait to find out where Julie Moffett’s genius mind takes Lexi next.

Everyone plans for things that could go wrong when planning their wedding but for Lexi and Slash things go wrong on a whole new level from drones to assassins and much much more. There's always some excitement when Lexi and her little black cloud start strange and unexpected things to happen but somehow, they make it through it all to have the wedding they wanted. Great book, highly recommend.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant!

Lexi and Slash are finally tying the knot. But Lexi’s black cloud just doesn’t let up until we learn who the assassins are really after, and it’s not the obvious target. Love these characters, the plots, and excellent writing. Can’t wait for more from Lexi’s world.

Mandatory reading for all brides to be

I love the Lexi Carmichael series but have to say this was the best book ever! I know brides gave pre wedding jitters about what could go wrong, well read this and you’ll realize that nothing can happen to you that even comes close to Lexie’s experience and it still (SPOILER ALERT) worked out okay!

Another Winner!

A long time coming but well worth the wait. Julie's Lexi and Slash adventures draw in the readers more than any other author I know. There is action, intregue, laughter, family, love and more wrapped up in a fantastic plot. I have the whole series and have reread most. Can't wait for the next one. I wish I could give more stars!

One determined little black cloud, one bride with moxxy, one dashingly protective groom, family, friends and dignitaries, an assassination plot, or three, and you’ve got all the happy couple needs…and then some. Will contingency plans be enough to keep our dynamic duo headed down the aisle?
You’ll experience it all as their special guest.
