Es la historia de Esperanza, una hermosa e inocente mujer de pueblo mexicana, en busca de su hija, a través de burdeles y barrios bajos de California.

Esperanza es una viuda joven y resignada a vivir para la crianza de su hija adolescente Blanca. Un día ésta enferma y muere repentinamente. Esperanza recibe un golpe insólito, inaceptable cuando comprueba que el cadáver ha desaparecido de la tumba. San Judas Tadeo, el mismísimo santo católico del cual ella es devota, se lo ha informado en una súbita aparición en el horno grasiento de su cocina y le ha ordenado que emprenda la búsqueda de la joven.

I had a good laugh more than once. This poor women is so determine to "find" her child that she goes as far as passing herself for a prostitute. A sad story with a fun twist.
