Discovered by actress Drew Sidora (The Game, Step-Up 2, White Chicks); Discovered by the actress Drew Sidora, Ni'chelle Genovese of Norfolk, VA is no stranger to the pen. Even though she's like a fish in water when it comes to being in the studio or behind the mic, she has proven that she is more than just your typical artist.
As a musician, Ni'chelle's main mission was to stay true to herself and beliefs. She's turned down impressive offers from Lil Kim's Queen Bee Records as a ghost writer and even passed on an exclusive recording contract with Bad Boy. Under the close mentoring of rapper Ice-T, Ni'chelle developed a writing style unlike any other female MC. She has since penned verses and hooks for the likes of Pink, Governor, Mike Bless, and Drew Sidora, but her heart lies in her storytelling abilities.
WOW...I'm not gone lie, I've put off reading this book for a while, then out of the blue I decided to go ahead and read it for some reason. So glad I did!!! I was glued to the pages until the very last page. It was sad what happen to Rasheed in the end, but you have to admit that he had gotten over for so long. It was about time he got what was coming to him. I don't want to give up any spoilers but at first I was thinking that no one would be able to beat Rasheed at his own game. I bet he did too! I just couldn't believe how he kept doing dirt and had the nerve to brag about how good he was whenever he was able to get out of hot water. Deep down in his heart he wanted to do the right thing, but he just never got around to it. This book is full of so much betrayal, sex, and unsuspecting twists. Bravo Ni'chelle; can't wait for the encore presentation! Job well done!
Baby Momma follows the lives of Rasheed the drug dealer and Michelle the college-educated baby momma. Michelle is fed up with Rasheed's cheating and always being away from home. This story was interesting at times, but it seemed like the typical hood story. Drug deals, sex, side chicks, and arrests. The most explosive thing about the book was the ending, I did not expect that at all. The book wasn't bad, it just seemed as if I had heard it before many times. And I saw that in the back of the book that this was going to be a trilogy, but I would prefer for the author to leave the story as is.
I really enjoyed reading this book Baby Momma keeps u coming back for more I think Rah deserved what he got and I am glad Michelle finally realized that Rah didn't love her like she loved him but I highly recommend this book to all book clubs and individuals who loves to read

This book was what I call a slow starter. Honestly to me the main character took too much until she reached her breaking point ! This was why I was so frustrated with her, it’s like please wake up and smell the coffee! Other than that the book was a good read filled with drama and entertainment. The end of the book had me for a loop!
I wasn't sure about this book, since I have never heard of the author. I quickly changed my mind! This was some Motives type stuff to say the least. I kind of felt sorry in the ending but "baby daddy" ruined many lives. There are a lot of twists and turns but trust me they all fit in. I read this book late into the night because I had to find out what happened. To sum it up watch out for the ladies fellas-you never know when a woman's fed up!!
This was the first book I read on my Ipad and I enjoyed it. I would have loved to have gotten more from Rah's reaction at the end though. This was one of those books where I really didn't know who to root for because everyone got on my nerves lol. It was fun to see how everyone's relationship intertwined at the end.
I wrote a review but somehow I lost it I loved this book the author did such a great job of weaving a story until you never saw the plot explode until the end. She had you thinking that you knew who did what and then like a sucker punch, then she shows you behind the scenes and leaves your jaw hanging she has the skills and the talents this was worth the wait
- I Thought This Book Was GREAT !!! I Really Enjoyed Reading This Book I Didnt Want To Put The Book Down But I Had To Every Chance I Got I Read It And Was Lucky I Finished It In 3 Days ' Ni'chelle Genovese Needs To Write More Books &* I Need To Find Them ASAP !!
I thought this book was gonna be stupid but it had a good plot and the twist at the end was worth the read. I didn't see the end at all. Good book for the first time author.
Rasheed is a drug kingpin and strip club owner, who has a hard time staying faithful and an even harder time being the man his family requires. Michelle is the mother of his son, Trey, and after being mistreated by Rasheed for years, may have finally reached her breaking point. Michelle’s business savvy is the reason Rasheed was able to build such a lucrative empire in the first place. After promising once again to be the man she needs him to be, Rasheed’s latest betrayal may prove to be his undoing. When things start to fall apart completely for Rasheed, he looks to Michelle for support and understanding, but this time she may no longer be so forgiving. In fact, Michelle may prove to be even more deceitful than he ever imagined. Baby Momma’s storyline is interesting enough to keep the momentum flowing throughout the book. It begins from Rasheed’s point of view and just as the tables start to turn, switches over to Michelle’s vantage point. Full of entertaining twists, lust, drama and murder, Baby Momma is a quick read with a finale that has me ready to delve into Part Two of the trilogy so that I can see where the story leads. All in all, Ni’chelle Genovese will definitely make a name for herself in the urban fiction genre if she continues to spin tales as enjoyable as Baby Momma.
Michelle, the protagonist,is in a big love triangle between her cheating, drug dealing son's father and he bestfriend Larissa. Rasheed, her son's father, has done nothing but hurt Michelle in every way possible. Throughout the course of the book, Rasheed fights the system of the government, by opening accounts under other peoples names, and even being the number one drug dealer in his area. There is a lot of lost loyalty, and death due to Rasheed's anger. This book caught my attention immediately, it is very realistic and depressing at the same time. Each page I wonder what is the next lie Rasheed will come up with next or who is the next girl he will have sex with. The author uses different perspectives to tell the story, for example, in one chapter Michelle's thoughts would be uncovered and the next Rasheed's. The end of the story had a really nice twist and caught me off guard!
'Summer smelled like money, winter felt like paper, and the spring and fall screamed chedda...'
Michelle and Rasheed have a rocky relationship that have weathered many storms over the years. Rasheed is deep in the streets getting that money as well as sexing the willing and wanton females that come his way. Michelle is busy shopping, taking care of their son, Trey, and trying to clock Rasheed's every move and motive.
Baby Momma is your typical tale of a hood dude with a baby momma spending his money, his sexing and getting that street money, and deceit and betrayal among their friends. The characters were basic and had no intriguing attributes to make any type of mark in your memory. The plots were mediocre and were basically predictable with the dialogue and unfolding scenarios. It was a decent read but not one that I would recommend as memorable. 3.48
Omg, this book is filled with so much drama, betrayal,n disloyalty that it had me on edge, once I started it I couldn't put it down. Rasheed was the man and he thought he had an airtight operation with the ladies and with his business when things start to fall apart and while he was looking at all the wrong people he should've been watching his baby mommas cause Michelle wasn't no joke and she wasn't no dummy, she made sure she came out on top and I definitely can't wait to see how it all unfolds in pt2 Great Job Ni'chelle
Even though rasheed DoD his dirt he did not deserve to b done like that by chelle. She was dirty. She was no better than him because she was cheating too. She should have left him alone to b the next chicks problem. She was holding mad secrets of her own so I am puzzled as how she felt she was right. At the end of the day that's her son's father and she took his father away from him. He did a lot of dirty shot but so did she.
This book was an okay read....I read it in one day! I kept waiting for something explosive to happen, but it just didn't...It was a real relationship story with some true baby momma/baby daddy drama, with little action. I am still looking forward to reading the next installments to see what's up with Rasheed!
This book boring n non feeling. I gave it 1 star because in the middle it started picking up. Why did it have to pick up in the middle. It should have kept the flow from the beginning. The other star is because the end was a delightful surprise. I don't think I could bare part 2. I might try though
This book was intense and had so much suspense it was killer. The great thing about it is that while a story is being told there are behind the scenes alliances that you knew nothing about and the plot twists and turns hit you like a sucker punch. I have avoided reading this book for 3 years and it was well worth the wait
Not very good but glad to see that the baby mom was smarter than portrayed in the beginning of the book. It was a little over the top but she prevailed in the end, guys better watch out and watch how they treat their women lol..
If you a person thats really into Urban book than this is for you. This is such a great book. This book was so exciting and just had me wanting to keep reading until l the end. Good Book!
Prime example of "You cant judge a book by its cover". Just like everyone else, this one surprised me. Its fast paced and full of amazing characters & surprising twists. I wanted to choke the shit outta Rasheed but I cant lie, I saw a little of all the women in myself. Great job @Ni'chelle, I will definitely be adding you to my author rotation list.
