Here is a book for all couples- those with strong marriages who want to protect their relationship, those going through difficult times, and those considering marriage. With humour and honesty it deals with issues that are relevant to every marriage, including; communicating more effectively, over coming financial pressure, why interest in sex sometimes dies, the affair, and dealing with conflict.

Excellent! One of the best books on marriage I have read. Full of down-to-earth advice, peppered with anecdotes and suggestions.
The author is a Christian, founder of 'Care for the Family', but it's not a preachy book. He tries to help people to communicate better, to offer appreciation and forgiveness, and lets them know that others are probably going through the same difficulties.
Highly recommended to anyone in any kind of relationship, whether positive or struggling. Lots of principles that can be used in parenting and even in close friendships.
I decided to read this as I recently got married. I don’t know how much I actually learned but so much of it seemed to make perfect sense. I suspect it’s a book I might go back to from time to time. Communication seems to be the one repeated concept that is all important….but I think we all know that! However, knowing it and actually doing it effectively are two different things. Definitely worth reading……now to get my husband to read it!
Unlike many other books of this style, "Loving Against the Odds" is very accessible. It's neither too heavy nor too dry but gets right to the point. It makes for very difficult and scary reading though, as it points out several pitfalls and dangers that almost all marriages risk. It would have been better if I could have read it together with my husband, but even without that I think I got a lot out of it. I had my eyes opened anyway.
