This is a lovely inspiration book for the fashion illustrator/designer. It goes through the basics of elongating the figure (10 head figure rather than the more realistic 8 head croquis), different techniques and ideas for using mixed media to create some really beautiful illustrations for your portfolio. It also covers flats, mood boards and how to render different textures. I would get this along with "100 Years of Fashion Design" for further inspiration. Personally I find Anna Kiper's colouring techniques and the way she draws faces a little 80s, but the figures are ideal, particularly the women.

I'm developing my fashion illustration skills by sketching my 52/52 wardrobe this year, and I also want to learn to improve the sketches I make when submitting crochet and knit design ideas to publishers. Practice is the best way of doing so, yet this book will also be helpful. I would have liked more detailed instruction, but I believe that the examples provided will go a long way in helping me build my skills.

utterly gorgeous exploration of fashion art.

I love to do art and am especially interested in the way fashion is depicted in art. This book tells the story that I wanted to hear.
Anna Kiper in short, succinct paragraphs tells us what is needed to create beautiful fashion illustrations, including the methodology, the materials and technical details.
Her artwork in the book is just beautiful, it's easy to follow and is inspirational.
Highly recommended. I'd award it 100 stars of I could.

Excellent layout

I see this alot and n ebay. I got on unlimited which is fantastic😍 It has all of the techniques to get started. I have a collection of fashion illustration books I bought in Chicago. This book right here reminds me of a vintage illustration book I had since the seventies its black and white contour line drawings with specific technique driven. Guess what I gave it away thinking I would find it again ...no chance 😑 ☺ BUT this one has the techniques with color and artistic quality. I will be buying hard copy for my collection 😍😍😍

Not very helpful

I had hoped the author would include illustrations by some of the greats -- Kenneth Paul Block, Antonio Lopez, Rene Gruau, etc. However, all the illustrations are by the author, and not very good. Very fussy and ham-fisted.

Love this book. It’s so inspirational and there are so many techniques, but not for a new beginner like me.

Kiper's illustrations are truly incredible and inspiring! I love her style and her attention to detail. Her figures literally pop out of the pages - ready to walk off.

The book retty much covers it all (...well, to an absolute beginner like me, anyway). Very happy to have this book as my introduction to fashion illustration. Got a lot to learn from this amazing and talented woman!

Amazing illustration book with lots of techniques for colouring with different mediums. It takes you from the basic body building and poses to textures, colouring of varied materials, transparencies and superposition of clothing. Great option for any level of illustrators and fashion design students.

Absolutely gorgeous, inspired and expressive illustrations. While I do not pay attention to much of the instructions on the pages, the extensive variety in mediums and the different techniques used are just as inspiring as the work it's self.

It's not a how-to book, but it has a lot of inspiration. I wanted to learn how to draw croquis--fashion sketches. This shows a lot of elegant finished pieces, but only about three pages of how-to. So, not what I ordered, but a fun book to look at for texture, braiding, draping and shading.

Tek başına olmasa da faydalı olabilecek bir kitap. Anlatım kuvvetli değil. Çizim ve malzeme önerileri harika.
