When writing a biography an author will at least make a stab at revealing both the good and the bad in the individual he is writing about. Honesty counts for a lot. In this particular story of the life of a rock star, there seems to be a fair amount of "fudging". Some revelations are not revelatory at all and are patently unbelievable when one considers the lifestyle of rock stars. I went into this book looking for clarification in spite of being a non- fan of any rock star in existence. Rod Stewart's life must have more depth to it than is disclosed by this (arguably well-written) book. I did enjoy it but was disappointed by the lack of real information.

Another clever lucky bastard! We lived in two streets apart. God he was an ugly kid!

Another comical, cocky, cockney Jack-the Lad! Good read. "Behind the big brash personality is a selfish, insecure little boy with more front than Harrods"

I just loved Ron Woods qoute on Rod's meaness "He's tighter than two coats of paint"!

He's a lovable rascal that keeps on "Getting away with it"!

But he has a great voice and great a songwriting talent. I enjoyed the book almosty as much as I do his music.
He left the Archway and ended up in Beverly Hills. I left it and ended up in Beerwah!

Funny old world init!

Half very good rock and roll history and half fan mag.

The positives: 1) gnarly history of early British rock bands, 2) Rod Stewart's work ethic, songwriting method, professional hit making and performance mastery. But before it's half finished we already have "Maggie May." The rest is Stewart's carbon copy trophy girlfriends and wives.

I thoroughly enjoyed this inside peak at the man and his music... which I adore. Rod has always been a gentlemen rocker..... when he wasn't cheating on his wives, that is.
