Don't judge this book by its cover, which I thought was very unappealing, it was so much better.

This was a very mature Young Adult read. I have seen this stated in other GR friends' reviews and completely agree. Not even sure it should be classified as YA except that the heroine, Jocelyn, was senior in high school and Alex was 23, just finishing his master's at Yale.

Alex meets Jocelyn when he comes home from college for a 4 month break before his internship begins. Jocelyn is best friends with Alex's younger brother and they are working on a project for school. Alex is a player with a reputation with the ladies, he sees Jocey and immediately asks her out. I didn't really buy the instant attraction, I was actually suspicious of Alex's intentions.

I have to say I loved the story, it showed the innocence of young, frantic love. Alex was so sweet to Jocey and loved giving all of her firsts. Jocelyn did make some stupid decisions when it came with dealing with the pregnancy.

Although I wouldn’t classify this YA because of the sex, I definitely think the storyline, dialog, and the emotional mentality of the characters were what I feel when I am reading YA. At times I felt the writing was a little awkward or stiff and lacked some development and maturity. I have to say that I have been reading a lot of YA lately and Jocelyn’s Choice gave me what I often find lacking. It had young love with spice. I will look for more from this author.

Thanks to Alexis I found this a lot cheaper at NobleYoungAdult.com. $1.99, definitely worth the price!

Genre: Mature YA Romance
If you are looking for a sweet heart warming Romance than this book is for you!
-Warning altho this is a YA book it does contain sex and explicit language.

Jocelyn's Choice is about a young girl Jocelyn who befriends one of the hottest guys in her senior class Evan Jordan. One day while hanging out at Evan's house she runs in to his older brother Alex whom she has never met but only heard of. Alex is 23 smart and currently attending Yale but came home for a break before returning East for an internship. Jocelyn is taken aback by how HOT Alex is in person she has seen pictures but in person his piercing green eyes seem to take her breath away. The thing is Alex has a rep for being a love'em and leave'em kinda guy, so Evan is not really happy when Alex ask Jocelyn out on a date. Of course Jocely accepts the date unaware that Evan has filled his brother in on how inexperienced she is. But lucky for Jocelyn Alex decides he will be the one to give her her first kiss.

I loved this book and i recommend this to all romance lovers young or old!! The Epilogue was also very sweet!

They say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but in this case, please do!
2 stars** and I'm being quite generous here...

I really hate leaving bad reviews, and sometimes, even if I don't like the book, I will just rate it and won't write a thing... but this one was so poorly written, it drove me mad!
How this book has 3.79 rating, I have no idea.
While reading I couldn't escape the feeling that this was supposed to be a Twilight fan fiction.
I feel like I just wasted three hours of my time for this... and choice of words really bothered me.
Ok, so here's an example. Heroine calls hero's junk - little cowboy! Oh,for crying out loud! What is that?
Apart from writing, I felt no connection to he characters, dialogs were childish and I kept rolling my eyes every ten minutes.

I am sorry, but this is just bad.

I'm sure Stephenie Meyer was pretty attached to her characters too (the Cullens and the Swans). It's a pity that when Ella Jade pulled her story as a Twilight fanfiction piece of work—entitled "Bella's Secret"—(in order to publish) it sounds like she didn't spend more time developing her OWN characters a little more.

To be clear, I've not read this. I don't tend to make a habit of reading fiction based on plagiarized intellectual copywrite.

I'm glad I overlooked the book cover.

Sweet romance with cinnamon roll hero. Not my usual jam but it worked. Must be a mood thing. There's really no drama here, or any angst either, so I'm surprised this actually worked for me. Crazy, I know. Anyway, this felt like the YA-ish romance books I used to read. Ah, the possibilities of young love. In this case, Jocelyn is 18 (in high school) and Alex is 23 (grad school). Not YA but it still gave me that vibe. Maybe because it was sweet and for Jocelyn everything was so very new, exploring all of the "firsts" that go along with young love. Reflecting on the story, I think the only flaw I can point to in their relationship was the lack of communication, but that's probably because they didn't have much experience with relationships, or love for that matter. Jocelyn had the tendency of jumping to conclusions and Alex wasn't clear about his feelings towards her; not with his words, but his actions clearly proved he adored her. She was still young, inexperienced, and Alex had never been in love before. All in all, a sweet romance with low drama and angst. I picked it up for the 'surprise pregnancy' trope and it didn't fail. Next!

I read this after a recommend from a friend, and I have to say this was really good!! I just fell in love with the characters, and I was so desperate for Jocelyn to have her happy ever after!

Jocelyn had heard about Alex through his family, having spent so much time with his brother Evan (LOVED this guy!!) working on a class project together. Alex had been her secret obsession ever since she'd seen pictures of the gorgeous man, and she'd listened to family stories of him intently enough to feel as if she already knew him. So when he walks up to her after returning home from school, she's awestruck and finding herself even more infatuated with the real deal. So, when the man of her dreams flirts with her and asks if he can take her on a date, Jocelyn is thrilled and terrified at the same time. You see, Jocelyn is truly innocent when she first meets Alex, having never even been on a date, and going out with a man 5 years older with a lot of experience that she's been swooning over for months is something she'd never expected to happen. They face a lot of challenges, between Alex's old flames, the gaps in their ages and family incomes, and Jocelyn's innocence. But Alex sees something in Jocelyn, and he's determined to lose his playboy ways for her while he's home for 4 months. He's patient, loving, giving, and dedicated to her in their time together, and soon Jocelyn and Alex can't help but give into their desire. But when one night of reckless passion leaves Jocelyn discovering she's pregnant after Alex leaves for his internship, she must face a life-changing decision. Unsure of Alex's true feelings, she feels more alone than ever, and her choice may mean losing Alex forever.

I loved the plot for this story, and I was SO excited to read it when I saw the blurb!! I was crossing my fingers this story would be well-written b/c I knew it'd be a great story if it was, and I got my wish!! I fell in love with Alex the minute we meet him, he's so achingly gorgeous and adorable with his sexy flirting. I loved that he took Jocelyn from such innocence and really helped her find her inner sexy kitten!!!! The chemistry between them was just off the charts HOT, and it was so sweet that Alex waited for Jocelyn to be comfortable with everything before they got too far. Of course, every time I was thinking "GO FOR IT!!!" because they were just on fire they were so hot for each other!! And when they finally did give in...WHEW, did they ever have some fun times together!! And that night that they'll never forget, well...let's just say I won't forget it, either!! Dang, that was smokin'!!!!

The moment Jocelyn learns she's pregnant, she goes into full-on doubter mode and begins to question everything she and Alex had. She's right to do so, because Alex left her without ever telling her how he felt. So she's alone, not knowing if he cares about her more than just what they shared for that short time, and going through the trials of her first pregnancy with no mother and a dad who's kind of clueless. I felt so bad for her, even though I wanted to beat her for pushing Alex away. My heart broke for Alex, because he clearly loved her but couldn't bring himself to say it, and that was what kept them apart.

When Alex did finally return, all hell broke loose and I was on the edge of my seat for the rest of the book! I was so anxious, because Jocelyn's deception truly cast waves out in every direction. The nasty witch Julia that I wanted to strangle was waiting in the wings to lure Alex away, and whether or not he could forgive Jocelyn became a huge question mark. My stomach was tied in knots and I just wanted to take both of these stubborn characters and knock some sense into them!!

I really, really loved this story, and I highly recommend it to any romance fans. My only complaint is the ending; it was wrapped up in a "tell me" fashion instead of a "show me", so it felt like I was taking a step back and just hearing about their future lives instead of getting to experience it with them like I had the rest of the book. It took away from the beautiful, satisfying feeling that I could have been left with. Having said that, I was so happy they got their HEA, and I definitely look forward to reading more by this author!

Decent read.
Very short and cute with a bit of angst and a big misunderstanding.
The heroine is 17 and the hero a few years older, he’s still a student and she’s his lil brother classmate.
There’s insta love for both.
He’s kind of a player, but a cute one, and after he starts dating her it’s clear he has serious intentions, but he has to be away for four months to complete his studies, so they promise to stay in touch.
She finds out she’s preggo and doesn’t say anything to him, she cuts him out instead and he writes her an email where he very nicely tells her goodbye since she’s clearly tired clearly doesn’t want him anymore.
He thinks she got over him, while she’s waiting for him to come back.
There’s a bit of drama with her father, with another woman who was the hero’s ex fwb, and when the hero’s back in a few days all is clear.
He didn’t tell her he loved her be for leaving because he didn’t want to overwhelm her since she was too young, but he fell for her since he met her.
The book is short, very light and cute.
Both were celibate and in the end all is well.
What appalled me most was, still is, the cover. It’s embarrassing. But as they say, never judge a book by its cover….

3.5 stars - aaawwww…this was super cute despite that atrocious cover. Easy, straight forward read. I would have rated it higher if there’d been more relationship development and if the mean girls had gotten a comeuppance. I kinda thought the hero should have received a little more side eye(and he should have been a little more reluctant) about the age gap or the age of the h. That would have provided some additional tension and angst, and been more believable. But I did enjoy it and will try more by this author.

I liked this book. It was a spur of the moment read. I was cruzing and this one popped up and suited my mood of the moment.

I thought it was a YA read - wrong. It had a few steamy moments probably not suitable for the normal YA audience.

I'll first tell you why I didn't give this book a another half star or so. It felt a bit clunky in certain parts. Like the story hit a bit of a speed-bump. It would roll smoothly along and then there would be a "bump" moment. Either the dialogue didn't ring true, the story lost a bit of smoothness or there was a bit too long to get to the point. This didn't happen frequently, but enough that it was noticeable.

So, what did I like about the book?
1 -- I like the story. You have a young girl; senior in high school. She meets the 23 year old brother of a friend. This brother is a bit of a wild one, but seems to be very calm when he is around her. He is smart, and she is young and innocent. They hook up and it goes from there. He is heading back to school to work an internship in 4 months. They are inseparable and have one night of drunk unprotected sex -- but he pulled out .. how many of us have gotten caught by that one?
2 -- I liked the character development, most of the time. It wasn't as polished as some I've read recently [another good reason for not awarding a higher rating], but very good. Quite a bit of focus on the primaries, not as much on the secondaries. You can tell the author likes to stay focused on her h/H and it seems to work.

Nothing much more to say. It was an enjoyable read. Seemed to go fast and pulled me along nicely. Just what my mood called for. I'll read more of this author if the story appeals.

Happy Reading!

Surprisingly good, mature YA! Unaesthetic cover but it did pique my curiosity. Quick and short read, fluffy with some drama.

h Jocelyn's a mature teen but not a wise one when it came to her unplanned pregnancy. I just chalked it up to her young age and life without maternal figure.
H Alex however, was the mature one. He's determined to make their fresh relationship work despite the challenge of LDR.
Then, h pushed him away without giving H a good reason, ignored his efforts on communication, and it really hurt him. Once he became aware of the situation, he was quick to accept and adapt to his surprise huge responsibility. He didn't stop from doing what he thought was right, and what his heart really wanted to have.

The epilogue is so cute and sweet! Adorable! 🤧

〰️〰️

Safe?
▪️ Some OW drama.
H's on and off casual fbuddy before he met h. They kissed (just kiss) during H/h's separation when OW visited H in uni. H thought of giving them another try when his school break comes. Though he's still in love with h, he was hurt and I honestly don't blame him. h's TSTL moments annoyed me! 😑
▪️ Virgin h, H reformed man-ho.
▪️ Both celibate during months of separation.
▪️ Explicit scenes H/h only.

4 1/2 stars, Jocelyn is friends with Evan her senior year of high school and they are working on a project together. While they are working one day Jocelyn meets Alex, Evan's older brother who is home for a break from college. The two start dating while he is on break and they are inseparable. Before Alex goes back to school they agree to stay together while he's away. After Alex goes back to school Jocelyn find out she's pregnant. The story tells about there relationship before she's pregnant and how she deals with the pregnancy while Alex is back at school, what happens when Alex finds out she is pregnant and how they deal with the pregnancy together. I loved Alex and I was rooting for Jocelyn and Alex the whole time. Alex's family and Jocelyn's dad were also great characters I grew to care about. The ending of the story was perfect I couldn't have chosen a better ending than Ella Jade wrote. I'm really glad I read this book it was well worth the price, I would definatly look for Ella Jade's future books. My only complaint was that I wish the book was longer because I liked the book so much.

First of all, buy from Noble Young Adult! https://www.nobleyoungadult.com/ It's a lot cheaper – $1.99 versus $5.50 at Amazon.

Such a sweet book! I definitely agree with everyone else - don't let yourself be put off my the corny cover.

In her senior year, sweet and shy Jocelyn befriends the ever-popular and hunky Eric Jordan. When his smart, ivy-league brother comes home from school for a 4 month break before his internship, the minute he lays eyes on Jocelyn he is smitten. They both are. Despite Alex's playboy past, he is taken with Jocelyn and gives her many firsts to remember: first date, first kiss, first sexual partner, and first pregnancy, only Alex doesn't know about the last one, and Jocelyn is determined not to tell him until after his internship is over, 4 months later.

This book was light and cute. I loved reading about Jocelyn and Alex, and also the internal struggles that Jocelyn faced in the time that she found out she was pregnant but when Alex was away. At times it was frustrating because I wish she had told Alex right away since it could have avoided a lot of drama, but at the same time I understood where she was coming from and felt her reasoning for keeping it from him was justified as well.

In the beginning of the book, I felt like things were rushed and glazed over to get to the story. In a way I was appreciative of this, but at other times I wished that Ella Jade would have taken her time a bit more to describe and explain things, to show rather than tell things. I suppose this got better more into the book, but I think it overall continued throughout the book. Feelings, situations, developments of relationships, etc. etc. could have been better explained and inspected. I think such would have made for an even more emotionally moving story, although this is not to say I wasn't moved and my breath didn't catch or my stomach didn't clench at times when reading about Jocelyn's thoughts, fears, and insecurities. But Alex was perfect, Jocelyn was sweet, and overall the story was cute. All in all I sweet book and I'm glad I read it.

Jocelyn becomes friends with the ever so popular boy Evan Jordan. While working on class project together at his house she runs in to his brother Alex. Alex is much older than our HS senior Jocelyn by about 5 years. Once Alex see's Jocelyn he is taken by her looks, flirts with her decides he would like to take her out on a date. She's never been on a date or had a boyfriend. She is truly an innocent girl who is swept up by Alex, as she has heard stories about him and has seen plenty of his photos through out his house. Alex is home for 4 months before he is off to do an internship and he ends up dating Jocelyn during this time frame. There is something about this young girl that makes him want to be a better man and he truly falls in love with her. He is patient in their relationship and eventually they succumb to their physical attraction and she ends up pregnant. Alex leaves for his internship and has no idea what he has left behind, however he does know he is coming back to his home town and back to Jocelyn. She is scared about being pregnant and alone and makes some choices that she thinks are best for everyone involved.

What made this book for me honestly were these points:
1. Alex's patient and loving ways with Jocelyn
2. Jocelyn made him want to be a better man for her
3. How protective he gets over her and the baby
4. The epilogue...oh how I LOVED the epilogue

I really enjoyed reading this book.

It was def. the kind of read I needed to just wash over me in bliss, soft sighs, hushed giggles... ah yes. :D

The author writes clean and I like her stlye. Really love it when a guy chances from his player ways and that girl who thinks she isn't worth it is actually worth much more.

Although there times where times when I wanted to scream at my phone at how stupid Joce was - I couldn't really do it because I had to understand her, from her point of view alone.

Alex is sweet...I love him, really I do :D Player turned One-Man woman...And the fact he stepped in, all angry-sexy when he found out she was pregnant for him? *swoons some more*

I'm big on family and trust and da da da :)
So yh - call me bias in this case but I whole heartedly love this book from the start to the finish.

Jocelyn's Choice was a super sweet, coming of age romance novel. Jocelyn and Alex, the two main characters, couldn't be more different. She's in high school. He's already graduated from college. She's shy. He is outgoing. She doesn't have many friends. He has a pretty active social life. She's completely inexperienced. He's very experienced. She was raised by her dad. He was raised by his two parents. She's an only child. He has two siblings. Like I said, Jocelyn and Alex couldn't be more different, but they are the perfect match for one another. You can't help but root for them. Jocelyn and Alex are extremely likable characters.

Jocelyn was completely inexperienced before she met Alex. She had never been on a date. She had never been kissed. She had never had sex. I loved experiencing all of her firsts through her eyes. Her inner dialogue was very realistic for an inexperienced young adult. Her hopes, fears, concerns, and desires were extremely on base. Ms. Jade did a fabulous developing Jocelyn and Alex's relationship. Their feelings were realistic and developed at a natural pace. Throughout the novel, you could feel their chemistry, their hormones, and their feelings getting stronger.

I gave Jocelyn's Choice by Ella Jade 4 STARS (3.5 STARS). I recommend this novel to mature young adults. It's pretty steamy. Be warned, Ms. Jade's forte is adult romance novels so her language and her descriptions are fairly graphic.

-XOXO

Love stories are wonderful when they go according to plan, but another thing we rarely see is a twist or a turn that we did not expect. From the cover you could guess this ends in pregnancy. If you read the synopsis you could infer that it very well ends in Teen Pregnancy. While the story evolves to that point, it does not make it less of a love story.
Each character grows, each one finds the reason why they were attracted and admired in the first place. This plot shares an important sight about adolescent love especially when things don't go as planned and we hesitate to acknowledge responsibility.
Jocelyn is a strong individual who is rises to the occasion. This is a love story you will not forget and will always hope and wish the best for.

I know the cover isn't great but the story is.

In the book we are introduced to Jocelyn while she is contemplating looking at the pregnancy test she just took. The book switches to flashbacks of how she met Alex and all the firsts she got to experience with him (first date, kiss, and her first time having sex)

Jocelyn and Alex make the mistake of having unprotected sex one night. It results in a surprise pregnancy but also a secret kept by Jocelyn. Alex is leaving for a couple of months so Jocelyn decided that she would rather tell him face to face when he gets back to town. Alex tried to keep in contact with Jocelyn while he was away, but fearing she would tell him about the pregnancy, she decided to keep her distance. While at the mall, Jocelyn runs into Alex's younger brother who immediately figures out about the pregnancy, thanks to her now visibly showing. He demands she tell Alex immediately about the baby as he would be in town the next day.

Jocelyn and Alex have a couple tense days but ultimately settles into a very welcomed routine for them both. Alex is invited to go to Jocelyn's next ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby, who ends up to be a girl.

The story ends 5 years later with the couple being now married, homeowners, Jocelyn finishing her Degree in communications, Alex working, and both of them enjoying every minute that they can with their daughter Alexa. Jocelyn also reveals she is once again pregnant but this time they are both ready.

I surprising enjoyed this book a lot. It definitely has parts where all girls can relate but it also shows you the struggle being a teen mom-to-be.

I loved this book! The characters were awesome and not just the main ones. Alex has parents and two siblings and they're all very close, where Jocelyn only has her dad and they dont really talk. Alex and Jocelyns lifestyles are different. Alex family is wealthy and Ella and her dad isnt. Ella created a story that is fantastic and if you think the blurb sounds good, read the story. The blurb doesnt even compare to the real thing. This story hooked me and i couldnt put the book down till i was done. The characters have such an attraction to one another and i loved how they hit it off right away. Jocelyn is best friends with Alex's brother Evan and thats how they meet. Alex in a sense is kinda the good boy that likes to act bad. He likes to please his dad and does whatever he can to but when it comes to women, he wants a different one every night. Then he meets Jocelyn and he wants just her. He ends up leaving for school and Jocelyn finds out shes pregnant and doesnt tell him...right away. Now right here, were about 1/2 to 3/4s done with the book, if you want to know what happens when everyone finds out about Jocelyns pregnancy, grab the book. I promise you wont be disappointed. This book was great and the characters, you could feel what they were feeling. The story and characters grab you. I'll definitely be checking out more work by Ella in the future. So, if you like a cinderella feel, with the rich, handsome prince sweeping the poor girl off her feet, teen pregnancy, true love and a happy ever after, GRAB THIS BOOK!

I was browsing for stories that has something with the 'Brothers Best Friend' genre and Boy am I glad I found this.

The very first time I read the synopsis, I knew have to buy a copy and put down whatever book I was reading at the moment.
So at the wee hours of the morning, there I was buying this one and is done reading it overnight! It was crazy impulse but defo worth it!

I'm really not a fan of stories where high school girls get pregnant because they don't usually have the best ending. I've read quite a few and it only made me feel sad and me being a sucker for happy endings that I am, I had a bit of hesitations. The reviews helped a lot though, I patiebtly read each and every reviews only to be more excited because a lot of reader mentioned about 'Alex'.

Alex is a much older guy than Jocelyn and I love how sweet their relationship progressed into something much deeper. He was so adorable towards her and I didn't see in him the typical 'cockiness' some hero's have in their personalities which readers reall dig because it makes them really look hot.

I love how responsible both characters were in handling their relationships especially Alex.

I couldn't be more satisfied in staying late just so I can finish reading this. It's gonna be on my fave list and I'm now itching to read it again.

I thought this was a short and sweet read. I really loved how Alex changed from a playboy to a loving man for Jocelyn. He spent his youth using women because they allowed him to. Jocelyn is an innocent, shy young woman in her senior year of high school when she starts hanging out with Evan, Alex's younger brother. I really liked how Jocelyn and Evan never even thought of dating each other, they just knew they were meant to be friends. I really didn't like Brenna and Julia. The way they treated Jocelyn was horrible, but it did add a little to the story.
I think Jocelyn made the wrong decision, because she almost lost Alex. But I can also see why she made the decision as well. It wasn't made for selfish reasons but she just ended up hurting them both in the process. Loved the names in this book by the way. Jocelyn (my sisters name), Brenna (my daughters name), and Evan (our pick for a boys name if Brenna would have been a boy)! ;)

Dar-lhe-ia 3.7 estrelas por dois motivos:

[Alerta Spoilers]
