Short, sweet, smokin’ hot smut with a sexy tattooed artist hero...YUM!
But the heroine was turned on while getting her foot tattooed#?*! Really?! Hmmm...I guess it’s too bad that I didn’t have Romancelandia Brody as the artist who tattooed my feet then because all I felt like doing afterward was throttling something or someone or passing out, not getting down and dirty. He must have had a very special...ahem...needle.
Super short little gem of a book. This is one of those that I would love to give 5 stars to, but it just wasn't long enough. I wanted more story.
The story starts out with Avery getting a tattoo by Brody, the super hot tattoo artist. (And really, is there ANYTHING hotter than a tattooed guy? The answer is no, no there isn't.) So, yea....Avery is getting this tattoo and is getting seriously turned on by the hotness that is her tattooer. And Brody is attracted to her, too. (Naturally)
Brody finishes up the tattoo and Avery leaves, though both are wanting to do or say something.....acknowledge the attraction, etc. But neither does. As soon as Avery drives off, though, Brody decides that he HAS to see her again. He grabs the waiver she signed (that has her address on it) and closes up shop and heads out to find her.
And you know where this is going. Brody shows up at her place, they have awkward small talk and Brody almost leaves, but Avery has the balls to grab him and kiss him. And they end up having crazy hot monkey sex. And it ends there. What the what???? This is why I can't give it 5 stars. Too.Damn.Short.
Overall, the book is well written and I loved the storyline, but there needed to be more. This soooo deserved to be a fully fleshed out novel and not just a short story that could be read in 25 minutes. The characters were as developed as they could be in a story this size, but I wanted to know more. (I always do!)
I'm looking forward to more work by this author, but please....make it longer! (Size does matter. Tee hee.)
A hot little read. Gotta love a tattooed man, it was a nice change that instead of the male usually being the instigator in steamy-hot-ness-all-night-long that it was Avery who in the end grabbed him and stopped him from leaving and getting what she wanted. I didn't want it to end, I wanted to read more.
Yes, I know. This is out of character for me, but seriously, how can any hot blooded woman resist the guy on this cover??? And the book was free on kindle. I love tattoos and if I had a tattoo artist that looked like this... whoa. I can see this stuff happening..
By stuff, I mean erotic stuff. This short story is sex, pure and simple. Sex between a woman who is in an "exploring" and adventurous mood and a very sexy tattoo artist. Getting inked leads to getting laid in this piece of short fiction. I agree with other reviewers that it feels like it was taken from a longer piece maybe. If so, I wouldn't mind reading the rest of it. The writing is well done and the sex isn't stupid and eye rolling like a predictable bodice ripper.
There were some typos, however, and as always with contemporary sex scenes, one thing bugged me to death... no protection. Come on, woman, you just met this guy and knew him for all of two hours it took him to tat your foot.. you are gonna let in every single orifice and not put a rubber on him? DUMB, DUMB, DUMB. Romance authors, you need to be sending better messages out to your readers.
Four stars. It's free on kindle so if you're in the mood for something sexy, pick it up.
Oh come on... Really?! This little hot-tease-of-a-book gets you all excited and then just drops off in the middle, well not exactly the middle but close to it. Book two, where are you?
Recently single, sexual frustrated, and ready for some real action, Avery walks into the the tattoo parlor unprepared for the hot piece of eye candy handling her foot.
Brody, all tattooed-up and hard rippling muscles is concentrating really hard to maintain his professionalism while drawing the flower tattoo on Avery's foot. When he notices her response during the procedure he can't decipher if it's pain or pleasure that has her zoning out, but he's definitely turned on by it and wants to see where this could possibly go.
Deciding that self satisfaction will no longer help his dry spell, Brody closes up shop earlier in hopes of catching up with Avery. To his surprise she's more than willing to pick up where their chemistry left off when he arrives at her apartment a while later.
What happens next can only be explained as some of the best sex they've ever experienced, and both agree that this can't possibly be the last time.
In the words of Avery 'that was amazing!' What I wouldn't do to be under his tattoo needle.
This is a short story but seeing as how it was free on amazon.uk who am I to complain!
I did find the way the meet the second time a bit far fetched but if I had some hot guy knocking on my door would I be complaining- hell no!
There is backdoor sex if you know what I mean, which totally did it for me however its not for everyone.
The reason for 4 stars is Brody wasn't bad boy enough for me, but his hot muscular body covered in tatts was sexy.
One more important gripe was that the book cover on goodreads wasn't the same as I got. All I can say is thank goodness I've not got a kindle fire in colour otherwise I'd be complaining about not being able to see that hot guys body!
Short read but it turned me on so guess it served its purpose, would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a quickie before bed :)
Inked is a 26 page erotic short story. It's pretty much a couple of scenes between a woman who gets a tattoo and the tattoo artist that gives it to her.
It's not a bad idea or necessarily a bad story, the characters are reasonable - if a little flat, but one expects that of titillation reads - but the execution was what killed it for me. There was some very basic writing things wrong with this, things like a lot of adverbs and adjectives that did nothing for the story. Also, there was a lot of repetition of the same words, a poor grasp on moving past the most basic sexual references and a lot of the content was cliche and has been done to death in the erotic industry.
I wouldn't bother with this one if you can't look past the above mentioned flaws, if you're keen for a super quick read that's reasonable (but does include anal on the first 'date'), give this a try.
Things I noticed: 27% - ...her curly blond(e) hair... 60% - ...tightened as she as (delete she as) Brody... 64% - ...kissed his was (delete s, replace with y) slowly... 69% - repetition of 'ever growing pile of clothes'. Reword. - repetition of 'skilled mouth'. - repetition of 'moist opening' - "(delete space)Come for me" also put dialogue onto a new line. -...chocked - replace with choked 73% - dialogue on new line. - "Oh God." she(capitalise the s) 78% - "(delete space)Come for me... 83% - ...such as (delete as, replace an) intimate spot... -...causing the tip (of) Brody's finger (to) penetrate... 87% - ...slowly plunge(d) further... - accustom(ed) 92% - ...was great." she(capitalise s)...
This book is a novella. It was only about 26 pages, so there isn't a whole lot to say about it. However, I did enjoy the dirty little bit that I did get from this little treat.
This is a story where strangers meet and are extremely attracted to each other, go their separate ways, guy chases after girl, they bone all night....the end. We don't get too much back ground info on the characters, but there will be a full length novel coming soon. Let me just say that if the full length novel packs as big of a sex punch as this little bit did, I'll be buying that sucker for sure.
Let's get on to the sexy. WOW. This couple is so attracted to each other that it's border line ridiculous. I wanted them to bone in the tattoo parlor. Seriously. So, Brody goes over to Avery's house and they don't waste too much time getting to it. I mean let's face it...they both know why he's there. Brody delivers pure sexual heat. No holds barred. There's taste testing, front, AND back door action going on. It's all in there and it packs a punch to the panties.
While I wasn't exactly blown away by the story so far, I am looking forward to the full length novel. Brody has definitely peaked my interest. I think he'll have an interesting back story. If you're looking for something to give you some serious heat in a short amount of time, this is a great pick for you!

My Review: Short, sweet and to the point. I liked it. I mean sure there isn't much character development but come on! You can't develop characters when the story is a hot and steamy night of sex. I enjoyed it. It was quick and easy to read. There were a few minor errors where a sentence didn't make sense cause a word was added, but overall, it was delicious! I want BRODY! You should be 18 years and older to read this story since it is about sex.
For a Kindle freebie, this book was actually pretty decent compared to the other freebies out there. I liked it... but it was also very short and so the author was not able to flesh out her characters. It was hard to connect with Avery and Brody because everything was just go, go, go. Although I would have to agree with other reviewers that the love/sex scene between the two characters was hot. I just didn't like the fact that they could have sex with one another when they just met? I mean, what was up with that! He could have been a serial killer or something! But this is Romancelandia... so I guess not. Anyway, not a bad ebook and I liked it so, 3/5 stars.
I love a short erotic and super hot read and this is a good one! But even for a short story it’s still too short!!!
Avery after she got her tattoo she was fantasizing the man who did this job on her. And then, there was a knock on the door and the man from her fantasies was there and a hot night was ahead!
Definitely a very hot read, this novella is only about sex. Good and dirty, between two adults. I just had this feeling that there is more to the story than that, so I would prefer it to be a little longer!
I really enjoyed this little teaser and it gave a sweet taste what is yet to come. It tells the story of a young woman who goes to get a tattoo. The tattoo artist is super hot and super sexy. Both are turned on and he ends up coming over to her apartment pretending to return her credit card (which she never used). They then share a steamy night together. After that the story jumps five years and it shows them bumping into each other at a coffee shop. Clearly their chemistry is just as intense when they see each but there is a catch he is now married! I can't wait to read the whole story.
Avery Carmichael can't help to be a little turned on by the sensual man giving her a tattoo, when it is all said and done she has a few minutes of fantasy before walking away, until Brody shows up on her doorstep later that evening.
This was a real quick read and I just wish it had been longer. There really wasn't time to develop the chemistry that these two could have. Like the cover though.
Holy hell was this HOT!!! Where do I find me my own Brody?
It's a very short read that had me begging for more... literally.
Brody is such a cutey that I want to know more about him... Does he marry Avery? How many kids does he have? (Haha I know I'm lame but god he would be one hot DILF and I also have a thing for gentlemanly tattoo artists).
Anyway, if your looking for a quick release INKED is the book to go for!
This short story read like amateur porn stories written in men's magazines. It lacked believability. There was limited character development given the brevity. I also found the spelling mistakes more than annoying. There were also times when the author used the wrong word for the context. This was not a worthwhile reading experience
Really liked this but this was much too short. It was hard to connect with the characters. Too bad cause I would have loved to have read more about these people.
Shorts are the thing right now if you haven’t noticed. I am clearing out my TBR list and getting rid of a lot of books and reading a lot of shorts that I found a very long time ago when I was ill. This was one that was twenty-six pages of erotica that took no time at all to read. It wasn’t bad but it was just lacking a story or characters with any depth to them. It was over before you could get too hot or bothered. I mean girl goes in for tattoo she and tattoo artist find each other attractive neither saying anything. She leaves. He shows at her house. Wow, Why, she doesn’t think creepy stalker I don’t know. Ok, but no, she invites him in. Okay, you get my drift. Just an odd book because it’s predictable and the author rushed the ending.
DNF: she gets pregnant and never tells the father. The father tries multiple times to get ahold of her before she even knows she’s pregnant; so she has no reason to believe that he wanted it to be a one night stand. She knows how to reach him. Yet she ignores all his calls and never bothers to tell him he has a child. He accidentally finds out 5 years later while she’s still trying to hide the fact that she has his kid.
This was a great little read (especially if you're reading one-handed). 😉 I'd love to see this turn into a deeper story, series, etc. Also loved that I felt like she described me (F) was a wonderful little thrill, & I've got a thing for larger tattooed guys. Yay! The only reason I took off a star was for a few grammatical issues that bugged me enough to take me out of scene. OK, and I wanted it to last longer 😁
My reviews are mostly my thoughts as I went with the book...
Well, not bad. Though I'm not a tattoo fan (for) myself, I've watched the TV shows LA Ink and Miami Ink and loved them. I admire the artistry and the people who do them, a lot. Also, I've just read a book by Bonnie Dee which I LOVED titled Bone Deep, where the hero was tattooed all over his body, so this novella got me interested. Plus the hunk on the cover was a good sign, though I'm not sure if he's happy to be there lmaooo. :p
Anyway, the heroine Avery goes to this tattoo shop and has a tattoo done by the tattoo guy Brody. While doing it, she was fantasizing about him, so was he. Later on, when she goes away, Brody finds her apartment with a false excuse (so typical!) and Avery invites him in. Not surprising, considering she was fantasizing about him (again) while in her bath. And, they have sex. It was a very short read (about 10 pages or so) so there was no hint of a lasting relationship, let alone love. The sex (I won't say 'making love') was good except for the later part which I skipped because I don't care for 'that' at all. 3 stars.
“Inked” can be downloaded for free from smashwords.
Warning: Not for the people who do not find 'backdoor lovin' sexy!

This is my second Everly Drummond book, and I have to say, while I do like this one better than her City of the Damned series, it didn't hit my buttons. The sex is better in this one, but a little mechanical in places, and she needed an editor. There are a LOT of silly mistakes, wrong words, misspellings, etc...
The basic premise is this: Avery gets all hot and bothered by the tattoo artist who is putting a flower on her foot. Brody (the tattoo artist) hasn't had a woman in a while and Avery is really hitting all his horny buttons. So, on the premise that he found her credit card in his shop after she left, he tracks down her home address (works in the story, despite the slightly stalker-ish vibe my rehash seems determined to give it) and gets invited in for a beer. What follows is pretty good erotica, albeit, like I said, a little mechanical. There is definitely worse stuff out there, but the author had promise with this one and I feel a little let down that she couldn't bring that promise to fruition.
