In a bargain between realms, the demon king only wants one thing — her.
The Witch This must be a mistake. There’s no way the Goddess chose me to be a demon’s bride.
I barely have any magick, and certainly not enough to repair the bargain between witches and demons that’s kept both our realms stable for centuries.
But Eren is…nothing like I expected. Something about him calls to me. Tempts me. And he looks at me like no one else ever has, like I’m strong and worthy. Like he wants to keep me, cherish me…and sink those wicked, wicked fangs of his into me.
The Demon Allison Hawthorn is mine. My fate. My bride. My mate.
Mine to keep.
The magick that witches have brought to the demon realm for centuries is failing, and as High King, it’s my responsibility to see it repaired. I just never expected…Allie. My soul recognizes her immediately, and in a life stained by grief, I’ve ached for her before I ever met her.
Now that she’s here I’ll do anything to protect her, even as the fast-failing bargain threatens both of our realms, and will separate us forever if we can’t figure out a way to renew the magick.

Hi, I'm Leigh! I am an indie romance author who writes mainly in the fantasy and paranormal genres. I've been a romance fanatic since the first time I snuck one of my mom's Harlequin paperbacks, and never looked back.
When I'm not writing, I spend a ton of time outdoors camping, hiking, and taking photos. I'm also big into tarot, astrology, and all things witchy,
This is my book, so of course I'm going to give it its first five-star review ;) In all seriousness though, I had so much fun writing this book, and hope you enjoy reading it!
I can’t rate this because I don’t know how to. It has everything I love, but it just didn’t feel right. It could just be me since this seems to have a lot of high ratings.
I didn’t feel like Allie (h) was very consistent, it was giving me a bit of whiplash, she was supposed to be sassy, kind, fearful, confident, strong, insecure and reassuring and all of those things would flip on a switch, it didn’t feel like a natural flow of emotions. 🙈
The H was pretty perfect tho it also felt like too much, like a bunch of kinks were thrown in and each scene required it.
I read romance for the romance parts, I’ve found myself skimming past a lot of plots in stories just to focus on the couple but here it was the opposite - I didn’t particularly care for the plot but I was curious enough to finish the story but I was mainly skimming through the MCs interactions because it was just gonna be a sex scene anyways and I didn’t feel their connection 🤷🏻♀️
Again this was a weird one, A LOT of ingredients I love but the dish didn’t come out to my liking.
DEMON'S BRIDE was amazing and I loved every second of Eren and Allie's fast burning romance. It was swoony, it was sexy, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This had so many tropes that I adore: fated mates, arranged marriage, MMC falling fast, fangs and biting, and dirty talking MCs and I felt like each new thing was written directly for my id because it was hitting all the right notes. Not only that, but Eren was a wealth of fun monster attributes, he's got horns, wings, fangs, a frisky tail and he was *chef's kiss* the perfect charming demon king. From the moment he meets Allie he's all in and I loved the way he always believed in her, respected her, and listened to her wishes. Eren is quite frankly the perfect MMC with a great mix of cocky, caring, and possessive.
The mystery over the failing demon realm magic had me interested from the start and I loved watching Allie gain confidence in her magic. She's never felt like she had a place in her coven because her magic was so much weaker than everyone else's and it was great to see her find her place. Allie isn't the kind of FMC that's in-your-face strong but she had a subtle strength in the way she never gave up, the way she remained loyal to those she cared for, and the way she stood up against each new obstacle.
Eren and Allie fall fast and hard for each other, but if you love a high heat insta-love romance than this one's for you. They had so much chemistry together and I was swooning over the way Eren never held back from expressing his feelings for Allie.
I hope we get more in this series because I would love to see more demon and witch pairings, especially after the way things ended with this book. And my soul for a prequel about Emilia, Sylas, and Vayla! I would love to see how they all fell in love. DEMON'S BRIDE blew all my expectations out of the park and I can't wait to read more by this author.

“I would choose you in this realm or the human realm or any of the rest. I would choose you always, you beautiful, sweet, unearthly creature. Mates or not, Goddess- blessed or not, there could never be a life in which I did not know you as my own.”

“Damn it,” I mutter. “What’s up with the bite? Why does it do that to me?”
“It’s a mark of my claim,” he says, running his tongue over it again. “Does it make you hot, Allie, when I remind you who you belong to?”

I’ll love her as well and deeply as any demon has loved his mate until she knows without any doubt what she means to me. I’ll earn the bond I have with her and spend my life making myself worthy of her.
This book had an interesting concept, but it was very weird. To begin, Eren, the MMC, was a demon, right? Normally you expect some horns or wings with that, right? But in this one, he had a tail. I had assumed that his tail would be like that of Cardan's in The Cruel Prince, where it is mentioned one time and then never again. In this one, it's used for "other" purposes.
Furthermore, for about 5 straight chapters, all they had was sex. I'm all for smut, but that was excessive. There wasn't really even a plot until the third act. I'm sorry to say but this book was a cool idea but it did not get executed very well.
DNF 15%. I just got tired of wading through the verbal postponement of action. Ten paragraphs teasing a touch. Another ten savoring the tease of those ten. Then another few interwoven with the touch, then repeat with regard to the next event to drag out.
My Rating: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Series Status: Same universe, new couples… this one wraps up nicely but clearly kicks the door open for the next pair of idiots to fall in love.
We Have: ✅ M/F romance ✅ Dual POV ✅ Paranormal romance ✅ Demons & witches ✅ Fated mates ✅ Instalove ✅ Miscommunication doing Olympic-level gymnastics ✅ Interrupted conversations every five damn minutes ✅ Two people wanting the same thing but emotionally tripping over themselves ✅ Basically a Hallmark movie… but with demons and fucking
So… this book was a surprise. Not because it’s groundbreaking. Not because the plot is wild. But because I spent the entire book waiting for something terrible to happen. Kidnapping. Betrayal. Someone getting stabbed. A dramatic sacrifice. Something. And the book just calmly refused to traumatize me.
Which honestly says more about me than the book, because I read so much dark romance that my brain is apparently broken. At several points I was fully convinced something horrific was about to happen and I realized… yeah… my therapist would probably have a field day with the shit I was expecting this story to do. What this actually is… is basically a paranormal Hallmark movie. Cozy vibes, sweet romance, demons with wings and court politics… and then suddenly people are having sex about it. Which honestly made it a pretty great palate cleanser.
The MMC is an absolute sweetheart of a demon. Protective, patient, and clearly obsessed with his mate almost immediately. He’s not toxic, he’s not manipulative, he’s not playing games… he’s just over here trying to love his witch in peace. Awwww but ewwww.
Unfortunately the biggest obstacle in their relationship is not enemies, politics, magic, or demons. It’s communication. Or more accurately… the complete inability for either of these two to let the other finish a sentence. I swear to god there are so many moments that go like this:
Someone starts saying something important… The other person panics and assumes the absolute worst possible interpretation… Conversation derails immediately… Now they’re arguing about something that wasn’t even the original topic.
It happens. A lot. At one point I was practically yelling at the page like can one of you shut the fuck up long enough for the other one to finish talking. The FMC struggles a lot with feeling like a burden and not being good enough, which clearly ties back to some pretty heavy mommy issues. It explains a lot of her self-doubt and why she keeps spiraling into “he doesn’t actually want me” territory even when the man is very clearly obsessed with her. And to be fair… the MMC has his own spiral moments too. He gets stuck in his head worrying that she’s only going along with things because of magic or obligation, not because she actually wants him. So what you end up with is two people who are extremely into each other… repeatedly overthinking themselves into chaos.
The spice is solid. Several scenes, nicely written, fairly detailed… but pretty straightforward. No wild kink here, just good old fashioned demon-witch sex. I listened to the audiobook and while there are two narrators, it’s not dual narration. Each narrator reads their POV chapters and voices the other character during dialogue. It worked fine, but I will forever believe a deeper, more growly demon voice would have made those scenes hit harder. I mean…. This is 10000% a good palate cleanser. Easy to read, cozy paranormal vibes, a sweet demon MMC, and enough spice to keep things fun. The main story wraps up nicely, but the ending clearly sets up the next couple in the series. I’m not sprinting to book two, but I’d absolutely come back to this world when I’m in the mood for another low-stress paranormal romance that doesn’t emotionally destroy me. Maybe……
Things that had me rolling my eyes a little: • Him: repeatedly trying to say something important and getting cut off mid-sentence like sir please finish the fucking thought • Her: assuming the worst possible meaning behind literally everything he says • Both of them: wanting the exact same thing but somehow arguing their way into confusion anyway • The universe: watching these two idiots dance around the most obvious solution in the world… which is simply talking to each other like functioning adults
Final Thoughts: TL:DR Somehow I got catfished into reading a fluffy paranormal romance. Demons were present. Magic was present. Smut was present. Emotional devastation was absolutely not present. I kept waiting for the betrayal, the kidnapping, the “oh shit someone is about to die” moment… and this book just kept handing me cozy demon courtship instead. Frankly rude as FUCK. But fine. Whatever. It was cute. The spice was… decently vanilla. And even though my dark-romance-rotted brain was confused, slightly suspicious, and mildly disappointed nobody got stabbed… it was still a good time. Consider this proof that even my feral dark-romance brain can occasionally tolerate a little demon fluff.Still mildly offended no one got stabbed though.
I feel like my book reviews are kind of worthless, but oh well here goes. This novel was delicious. I loved the fantasy witch/demon aspect of this book and I couldn’t put it down every time I had the chance to read. Spicy AND has a decent plot. Highly recommend!
Something about this one was off. The characters' personalities would switch and flip when the plot needed it to. It was inconsistent and very much took me out of the story. It's also rather long winded, not in verbiage but in the sense that every action takes SO LONG to finally get executed that when it finally happens, you're already over it. It was weird, to say the least. The only thing that was cool about this novel was how the MMC has wings and a tail (that he uses *wink wink*).
If you're looking for an exciting and flirty paranormal romance, you should definitely check out Demon's Bride by Leigh Miller. This is the first book in the Crescent Coven series and offers a unique take on demons and soul-reaping that will intrigue you.
This story introduces us to Allison Hawthorn, a 26 y.o. witch considered powerless despite being the daughter of the coven's High Priestess. Allie's life takes a surprising turn when the Goddess chooses her to be a tithe bride, which means she is tasked with marrying a demon to keep the magick of the Veil - portals that separate the human world from other realms - alive.
Enter Eren Ashblood, an 87 y.o. demon king who immediately recognizes Allie as his fated mate. The two quickly become entangled in a mystery to save demonkind and prevent the consequences of soul-reaping. But will Allison's limited magick be enough to maintain the veil?
✨ “You’re a temptation for me,” he says gruffly. “Too much a temptation. I want to take this night slowly. I don’t want to frighten you.”
“Do I seem frightened?” ✨
Demon's Bride is a satisfying read! The chemistry between Eren and Allie is irresistible, and Eren's possessive and protective nature toward her is charming. I also admired Allie's resilience despite her lack of magick and the unfamiliarity of her situation. With an excellent blend of kinky shenanigans, insightful dialogue, and a captivating mystery, this book is sure to please.
📌 Dual POV 📚 Standalone with HFN ⚠️ Content Spoilers: 💋 Safe enough for me:
It had EVERYTHING I wanted in a spicy romantasy...forced proximity, insta-lust, spice, a REALLY promising plot...but it fell short. The spice wasn't overly done/constant as compared to some other novels, but I just didn't care about what was going on between the realms and the urgency of it all. Also, not to yuck anyone's yum, but I am not a fan at how "knotting" is starting to become normal outside of any omegaverse books. It really just takes me out and my basement's front door slams shut when you aren't expecting it.

it was a fun book to read. yes, it was insta-love, insta-lust. i loved mmc, he was perfect. he also was one of those mmc who fall in love first and love fmc harder than she does. allie the fmc was a “pick me” girl. at first it was okay but then it became repetitive. won’t read next potential books though that epilogue suggested, for me it was a nice standalone.
I loved the plot and story line. I however wish there was a little more character development between the two main characters and that there was just more to the story overall. However I really loved Allie and her Demon husband🤤🤤

i could not tell you if i liked or disliked this book… i’m very much in between and i know the rating may be misleading but hear 👂me out!
i very much liked the concept and plot of this book! however… i’m not quite sure on the execution 🤔
firstly, the world building in this book is nice! i liked reading about the demon realm - i thought it was pretty sick! 🦊 the veil concept was amazing. loved loved 🩷🩷🩷 LOVED. i just very much enjoyed the concept of this book - to keep peace within the realms, a witch is chosen by the goddess to be a demons bride! cute and fun, right?!
whilst i loved the concept ☹️ the execution needed some work - at times i found myself just skimming over parts 😞
something i also wasn’t too fond about (which is MY FAULT!) was the insta love in this book 😞 i understand that the pair are fated mates but …Damn?! i just didn’t get the sense of a connection between the pair 🥲
speaking of the characters…. i wasn’t in love with them. i found it hard to relate to the mfc. she was quite… inconsistent with herself? one second she’s confident and then the next she’s insecure. i just overall felt very much disconnected with her 🐺 i also struggled to enjoy the mmc, he was just too perfect. man needed some flaws ☹️😞😢
i cant remember many scenes of these two, just their smut scenes if i’m being real 😭 i wanted more rawness and emotional connection behind them.
DAWG. 🐶 that first smut scene caught me so off guard, i audibly GASPED. good night and sleep tight wtf 🐦
I greatly appreciate the author’s very thorough content warnings on her website for this book
The world building was done so well, and though the book jumped right into the action with only a single chapter for build up, the reader never felt lacking in what was going on. The works and the lore was explained throughout in a very comprehensive way.
I also adored that the demon king was such a great guy. Even though he was “half feral “ He was always so considerate and kind. He was never a jerk unless he was being sarcastic and the heroine gave it right back at him!
The heroine was an unexpected one, and as such, her growth of confidence in herself was so heart warming to read.
DNF… first chapter had me thinking this was going to be a 5-star read. Then 30% in I got stuck and I ain’t sticking around to unstick myself.
Could be me.
Could be the horrible insta-lust (like, come on, even in a fated mates story I need some sustenance in the relationship. And there isn’t any to be had here).
I was so excited to start my year off with a book that had my favourite tropes and with an interesting synopsis. However, the plot was almost non-existent. The story was mostly about the main couple pouncing on each other any chance they got. The idea of the curse, the veil, and the demon world was so interesting, and it had the potential to be much more, but sadly, it was very, very shallow.
I might get cancelled for this but idc this is my damn opinion, I really hated that it had too much consent talk, like I'm all about it being a consensual relationship, but you don't have to ASK every 2 seconds are you fine with this and that, can i kiss you? AlLiE YoU hAvE tO SaY iT, i NeEd tO kNoW iF yOuRe FiNe WiTh tHiS!!
YOU'RE BOTH ALREADY WEDDED TO EACH OTHER .. AND BOTH OF YOU ARE GROWN ASS ADULTS WHO UNDERSTAND THE IMPLICATIONS THAT COME WITH A MARRIAGE OF BARGAIN .. AND YOU'RE. FATED. MATES!! WDYM - YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS - WHEN YOU CAN FEEL HER WANTS AND NEEDS THROUGH THE DAMN BOND!!!!!!! FFS MAKE IT MAKE SENSE! This whole thing being reiterated every two sentences ruins the fluidity of the romance, either intimately or emotionally, and honestly It's not that big of a deal to do the said action, then stop short if she said no, its not that serious, but asking before every action is ridiculous!
I also hated that they tried to dirty talk/ be rough with each other but constantly asking for consent?!!! Choose either this or that. You can't use both together, it doesn't fit. It's like asking if you can eat and sleep at the same time, IT JUST DOESN'T WORK.
Anyway, this wasn't the worst book I've ever read, and the writing, save for the intimate scenes, wasn't thaaat bad. The plot had some potential, the love dynamic between the couple was nice, i loved how they tried to take care of each other and consider one another.
This was so trashy I actually giggled at some parts. 1. The devil tango was done wayyyyyy too much and it literally started from ch 3 or 4 😑 2. The insta love was like sooooo insta like superrr insta, these two were acting like they LOVED one another after 2 days 😑 3. The plot made nearly no sense I thought it was gonna be plot driven but it was nearly nonexistent. I found so funny how they solved all problems by fucking.
I think this was like the author trying to include as many famous tropes as possible. I feel like everyone should read this book so they know what low standard romantasy is.
BRUHHH there was no character development no anything super flat and just annoying to finish.
A romance between a witch and a demon? With fated mates? I mean… sign me up. This book has not been the best romantasy book ever but it has been everything I was looking for in terms of romance.
It was a fast/semi fast burn lol the sex happens quick but the feelings of love for Allie take time, Eren is obsessed from the start bc of the mate bond.
