Season Two of this action-packed Audio Drama plunges listeners back into a ravaged world of violence and terror. Who can survive in a world overrun by zombies? This Audio MP3CD edition presents Season Two of the exciting award-winning Audio-Drama Serial We're Alive by Kc Wayland and Shane Salk, and it is performed by a full cast.
The hope of a better life forces the survivors of the tower out into the dissolving world around them. The consequences of past battles leave them struggling not only with each other but the remaining fragments of humanity.
This is a good listen for me as I travel back and forth to work. Yes, I am actually going into my office one day a week after working from home for over 2 years.
This is pretty much how the book goes. "Hey what's that sound? Oh my gosh, it's the bad guys/zombies! Oooh, let's stop and look at that shiny thing for a minute or five first." This is usually followed with some sort of yelling by the other person who is standing/running beside them and then the yeller sees something shiny and it's reversed. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
I'm going to poke myself in the eye (figuratively) and listen to the 3rd "season" (that's audiobook to you and me.) Don't ask me why.
I didn't think it could get any better but it DOES...The best thing I've listened to in a long time. The Walking Dead for your ears. This is a phenomenal production the voice actors are superb the story line is great. I am currently on season 3 and I've developed a connection with all of the characters and even ones I didn't like at first. This isn't just a story about Zombies but about the human factor as Well.. character development is superb and I ACTUALLY CRIED a few times and the SUSPENSE good Lord keeps me up listening all night. The sound effects enhance the story and this is most certainly Audio Drama at it's BEST. Also these aren't your average undead/run of the mill zombies We're Alive has found a way to reinvent them in a suspenseful and realistic and believable way). I highly recommend this to anyone who loves zombies or simply loves a suspenseful yet heartfelt story has a little bit for everyone. (re-listened and it's just as great as I remembered!!!) now when's the next one coming out? 😁😉
Liz and Saul's relationship is really getting annoying...top that with Peg and Michael and the shit is ridiculous! How in the hell do you have relationship when there is no time for that! They should be focused on fighting the fight and helping people survive.
So We’re Alive the Second Season is an amazing follow up to the first season. It picks up right we’re the first one left off and is a roller coaster ride till the end. The overall story of season 2 is very well written and very engaging. The characters are just as great as ever in season 2. We get to find out more about characters we already know and love. As well as see some other characters who were off to the sideline to develop more. The absolutely best on being Kelly the annoying woman from the first season. We also meet new characters as well as get to see even more of the world outside of the tower. The action is fast paced and when the zombies show up you already know the main cast is going to be in for the fight of their lives. The drama in the second season is also really well done and engaging. The cast who play the voices of the different characters did a even better job in season 2 with their characters as well as connecting the listener to each one of them. The music and sound effects were also top notch in season 2 as well. All in all I would recommend We’re Alive the Second Season to anyone who was a fan of the first season or really enjoys an amazing audio drama five star job all the way Kc Wayland.
3.5 / 5??? But closer to 3 than 4. Like a 3 plus, rather than a 4 minus.
I’m totally in the minority but I’m just not that impressed with this show!!! I’ve got a couple of characters I can stand, and some of the plot is really irritating but most of the characters are absolutely insufferable and the voice acting on some makes me cringe.
Since finishing it, I meant to continue with season 3 but it’s pretty tough getting myself to get going with it.
I would probably rate it higher if I reviewed it immediately after finishing it, but after letting it sit for a few weeks, I’m ehhhhh on it. The ending sequence with the helicopter stuff was really interesting.
I enjoy Kalani, Angel, Riley, Kelly, and that’s about it
Really liking this audio show! It is available for free as an ad supported podcast or on audible ad free. Great voice actors, action, bit of comedy, and good story.
5 Stars for the Audio Drama Cast & Production, 3 Stars for Story = 4 Stars
The first season of 'We're Alive' was all about setting up the main characters, the base setting for the story and riling up the troubles as problems piled up. It's was a slow build up that ramp up to an all out fight. Season 2 opens up where the first ended and the gang at the tower are battling on three fronts: a fire that may take out the whole building, the zombies that want to chomp on them and ego stroked fear running amok & causing strife among them.
Some old faces are lost and new ones appear, more information about the zombies are cobbled together and plans for a new refuge are made. No one is really a hero in this crowd but some of them step up to do heroic things or what must be done for the sake of the group. There's a ton of action in this season and the cost of loss are not far behind.
While the story doesn't hold a unique taste for the zombie loving genre, it has a great cast of characters that pull you forward into the story. My favorite parts of the series deal with how people learn to take something they already know how to do and put it to work in something else. A disaster may have hit the world but people still strive to live. The story doesn't go into extreme detail about the horrors and that's just fine with me. Between the sound effects and what is said, you know what's going on and it's only as graphic as your imagination will run.
The writers did an excellent job of creating a narrative story that really tells the tale by the characters rather than awkward info dumps. The personal journal reports really help with that aspect. Though the story is not that original, it's all very well done and I'm having a great time listening to the series. Onward to season three of 'We're Alive'!
I know that a lot of work went into making this, and I can't fault the production value. I have the same issue with this podcast as I do with the Walking Dead, I don't feel that the characters are making choices that are sensible in any way. I'm also not sure what purpose Pegs serves, she's either too old to act as immature as she has, or too immature for her group to have dealt with her for as long as they have. Also, Riley's drinking problem should have gotten her killed by now, as should Saul's running off to look for a Lizzie that could have fought harder to get away from would be rapers. I'm just not sure how any of these people managed to survive together.
The more a character talks the less I like them. And the one character that I did like, Tommy, died in such a stupid way I could not believe. Why was he allowed to keep the blood on him when they know that contact with the blood would turn him? Why is Michael so sure that no one from the tower survived and what 6th sense do Saul and Tonya have that allow them to know who's alive and where/what they've been through.
Having said all that, I really envy the creativity and hard work that went into creating this podcast, I hope to create something on this level one day. I plan to keep listening, and complaining, until something so egregious happens that I have to abandon all hope and give up of the podcast.
First off, Michael is an ASS! He's the type of NCO you can't explain Anything to. In his mind EVERYTHING you say is an excuse, until he has to do it himself. Only then does he realize it can't be done (like you already told him), but somehow it's STILL your fault! He spends the entire series yelling at people as if they're his underlings. True he is better than Bert, but not by much. He may call it leading, but I see it as bitching.
I'm glad Angel plays more of a role this series, even though he's still playing second fiddle to Michael. Which of course is normal in the grand scheme of things. I just wish he would stand up for himself more.
Are we really surprised about Lizzie and Saul? Really?
Pegs is still her annoying self, but on a deeper level. UGH............
This season was absolute chaos from start to finish. This audio production has to be the best. From start to finish I was hooked in. The character development is absolutely fantastic. I have to say Burt and Michael are my favorite characters.
Everything has started to crumble and trying to find help and meds. The survivors are fighting off mallers and zombies. These zombie are not your typical walking dead zombies either. The author has completely reinvented the idea of zombies in this series.
Overall I’m loving this series and can not wait to go into season 3. The sound effect make this production even better.
Just as good as the first season. We get some really interesting story arcs as the teams scavenge for supplies and find crazy things - new strongholds against the zombies (so more characters!), better weapons and 'mmunitions. Thing's aren't always as they seem at first glance at the colony, and we get an interesting story there about politics & escape. I'm starting to sense a bit of a trend with the season finales lol, it's all in good fun and there's hella tension and excitement there.
This is a free book. I invested 0$ and got several hours of entertainment. This is good value and that alone warrants a good rating. As far as the story goes it is only mediocre. If you're familiar with The Walking Dead then you know the format - Survive, fight another group, survive more, rinse and repeat. It's not going to win a Pulitzer, but is easy listening and entertaining. Production value is very high. Overall I would recommend it if you're in the mood for some standard zombie action.
Second season was lackluster for sure, but that’s just me being picky with audio dramas
Just glad to even have the collection as an ad-free compilation. And shocked this existed back in 2010 — I would’ve been completely blown away by the audio experience then..!
Probably going to adjust my yearly “book” goal, as these really probably shouldn’t count 👽
The series continues to be fun. This one is more action packed than the first, which is to be expected as the story moves on. It's just a bit hard to follow all the action with this kind of format. I feel they did a great job, but more normalisation on the volume would have been better.
This season was as bad as the first was good. Who comes to listen to an apocalyptic zombie story and just wants to hear about sex hookups and related drama as folks are hanging out in a bunker? Without zombies?
The second season of this really took off. The characters are more established, the drama increased and it was a lot of fun to listen to. I really liked the added suspense of the changes in the zombies and the addition of new communities that may or may not be friendly. On to season 3!
This season started slow compared to season 1. This season has more story of Micheal and paggy, as previous concentrated on other 2 pairs. I liked how more world building, and there are lot of cliffhangers in this. Excited for next season.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is an addictive pod cast. I find myself listening to it at home as well as in the car. It's well written, the characters are great and I love all the voice actors.
