This book is somewhat dated since it was researched and written in the early eighties. The author is famous worldwide for writing other books on birds and nature, but this book was written to describe some of the finest bird watching areas on earth. The author and his co-author John Gooders apparently took a sabbatical as young men and roamed the planet in order to research the content of this book. Although thirty years old it remains a high quality general summary for bird watchers with itchy feet, travel money and unlimited curiosity.
