This book tries to keep the readers engaged with short anecdotes about a particular girl going through pregnancy and making life changing decisions. While it can be debated whether the book is talking to or talking down could be debated it does try to respect its audience even though it's a touch subject. It mentions things about rape and secondary virginity but does so with care. I think my favorite thing in this book is a metaphor about a ten dollar bill.

For what it is, I think this is done very well. It touches on some touchy topics such as abortion and family relations. It strives to lay out all the facts without any prejudice. The facts are sometimes very simple and seem to be common knowledge but that may or may not be the case. I know that some terms I learned after graduating high school.
The elements I's be most concerned about would be the smatterings of blue info boxes that sometimes feel more of an interruption rather than helpful. However, the styling and layout of the paragraphs and pages can seem childish at times but, I think this may just be the result of attempts to keep it from seeming like a textbook.
