Battlefields of Texas

Rate this book
Texas is a blend of many cultures and identities. "Such a blend does not come easily, however. When a land as great and rich as Texas changes hands so many times, it does not do so peacefully."

Texas has been the site of numerous battles; Adobe Walls, Blanco Canyon, Gonzales, Salado, San Jacinto, the Alamo, Palo Duro Canyon, and Rattlesnake Springs are just a few of the many historical sites examined in Battlefields of Texas.

Vivid descriptions of the fields of battle, individual profiles of the participants, and retrospective analysis of each battle make this book an excellent reference for Texas and military historians alike. Maps of some of the battlefields and historical photos are included in this unique collection of Texas history.

Great book to help those interested in history find out of the way and major battle sites here in Texas. Provides location, summaries and outcomes of the conflicts. It's a good book to take along in the car and do a little exploring.
