From Stalin's editing of Lenin's polemics to the incarnation of agitprop today that is "Pravda," this study examines the origins, history, and contemporary manifestations of Soviet propaganda
This is an interesting look back at the complex, sophisticated, and entrenched system of propaganda engines that ran the Soviet State. Though the book is outdated in the sense that it was published in 1987 and its analysis of propaganda stops there, it is valuable as a history book when comparing means of disseminating propaganda today against those of the past, particularly where Russia is concerned. This is an in-depth and revealing look at the pervasiveness of propaganda and some of its main players in the Soviet Union.
