Facts Matter collects essays and other writings on author Anais Nin by the prolific Nin scholar Benjamin Franklin V. Beginning in the mid-1960s, Franklin has written numerous books, essays, reviews, and introductions concerning Nin, including co-authoring Anais An Introduction (1979). Facts Matter collects his major essays on Nin, introductions to several of her books, and an account of his relationship with the famed writer during the 1960s and 1970s. An important contribution to Nin scholarship, Facts Matter includes his introduction and photographs, including two of Franklin and Nin together.
Benjamin Franklin V is Distinguished Professor of English, Emeritus, at the University of South Carolina, having previously taught at the University of Michigan. He has published widely in early American literature, particularly that of Anaïs Nin, and edits Literary Criticism in Perspective for Camden House. He is also a long-time jazz writer and broadcaster, and a descendant of Benjamin Franklin.
