Billy Graham called Havner, "The most quoted preacher of the twentieth century." Through reading his books, thousands were led to experience God in a new and exciting way.

What a great book from a great country preacher! His days have come and gone but his teaching stands the test of time because it is based on biblical principles.
Favorite quotes:
Messages (from God) do not come from us, but through us; we do not create, we convey.
We are all whizzing around from preacher to preacher, meeting to meeting, with pad and pencil, hiding the Word in our notebooks instead of in our hearts.
Don't forget that your life is preaching the "gospel according to you."
Often I have thought that if this world, marred and spoiled by sin, could be so lovely, what will the new earth be like when God has freed it from the dictators, disease, death and the devil and filled it with His glory as the waters cover the sea.
I do not ask the sinner, "will you confess Jesus as Lord?" for that he must do now or later. I ask, "When will you confess Him as Lord - now while you can live for Him or beyond the grave when it will be too late?"
In order to have revival, let a few members of any church get thoroughly right with God.
If we loved this world as God loved it we would not love it as we shouldn't love it.

After reading it's easy to see why he is America's most quoted preacher.

Vance Havner's wisdom is great. You can still find his audio recordings online, too,a nd they are worth finding and listening to. He speaks in a kind, down-home country way, and yet speaks Gods truths directly and convictingly.
