I thought this story was ok. It the story about Paige and Dante who were in love but Paige broke up with him because she found out she was pregnant and did not want to hold him back. What Paige did not know was that Dante was already wealthy. So Four years pass by and they run into each other and though the chemistry is off the charts Dante wants revenge and Paige does not want him to find out about the daughter they have. So he blackmails Paige into being his mistress even though deep down we know that he still loves her and she him. What bother me about the story was when eventually Dante finds out about the child she turns the tables on him and gets mad because he did not tell her he was wealthy. I don't know about you but hiding that you have a child from the father is way worse then hiding the fact you were wealthy. Even though the descion was based on the fact that she did not want to hold him back because he was on the way to the top does not out weigh the fact that he missed out on three years of his childs life.

Book 3 in the Vittorio series of 4.

SPOILERISH

I felt like some mindless escapism.

Everyone knows that revenge themes backfire, its wondering how much it backfires that captures a reader. Expect proud and arrogant and you get that in spades in Dante Vittorio who has never forgotten or forgiven Paige for walking out on him four years ago without a word. Now she’s back and Dante blackmails her into being his mistress for a month. In that time he intends to make her fall in love with him then dump her. What he hadn’t counted on while exacting his revenge were his own turbulent emotions and the desperate need to get her out of his system once and for all. If only they’d talked. Secret babies aren’t my thing because I believe whatever the reason and Dante said it quite eloquently himself, he had every right to know he had a daughter and he had every right to feel cheated of watching her draw her first breath and all the other firsts he missed out on during the three years of Daniella’s short life. Up until that point I’d wanted to slap him but then I just wanted to hug him then I wanted to slap Paige for not telling him she was pregnant in the first place then slap her some more for letting him find out by accident he had a three year old daughter and after they’d spent the month together and her reasoning for keeping Daniella a secret were just too silly. If only they’d talked.

I approach revenge themes like this with a lot of caution because I usually want to smack the H in the face while he’s proving what a total ass he really is and I want to shake the h for letting him get away with it but despite myself I enjoyed it and I got my escapism.

Out of the entire series this one was the best book. It had fewer errors in it and and it also was a bit of a better story. The little girl, Daniella, was pretty cute but she had quite the vocab for a 3 year old little girl. However, that stuff doesn't really bother me. I thought it added a bit of charm to the story.

Dante's reasons for revenge seemed a bit silly but in the end quite a bit more was revealed about his true feelings for Paige. It was quite bittersweet in a way. After reading that scene it made me feel sad for both the hero and the heroine.

People who are not fans of the secret baby theme will more than likely not like this book. Paige's reason for keeping Daniella secret was that she didn't want to keep Dante from becoming successful and she thought a child would hold him back, yada yada. That was a bit of a silly reason, IMO.

Regardless, this was a sweet read and I'm curious if she will write about the other Vittorio brothers.

Did you ever read a book just to read it? Just because you needed a mindless diversion? Well, that’s what led me to Vittorio’s Mistress. Isn’t it also nice when one of those mindless diversions turns into a bit more than you expected?

It’s no secret that I’m partial to paranormal romances. Turns out reading about an Italian male isn’t that far removed from an Alpha male. Who knew? I say that because I noticed that a few people who read this book had a problem with the demanding and almost arrogant way Dante treated Paige. He forced the relationship that he wanted on her and didn’t take no for an answer. He loved her whether he wanted to admit it or not and he was determined to have things his way. I’m guessing that this didn’t bother me because of how close that scenario is to the way an Alpha paranormal male would handle the same situation.

Vittorio’s Mistress didn’t hold many surprises, it was pretty obvious how things were going to turn out. The characters may not have known, but the reader knew where the story was headed. The journey that the characters took to get to the ultimate ending made it worth the read though. There are at least two other books in this series and this isn’t the first. I haven’t read the others but I will probably pick them up eventually. In the end, Vittorio’s Mistress was exactly what I expected and maybe just a little bit more. It was a nice diversion from reality and it was worth turning pages to get to know the characters a little bit better. Sometimes that’s all you need.

Easy-peasy afternoon read that one could choose instead of the Young and the Restless. It had all the elements of a soap opera. The love, the passion, the cheesy lines, the Italian stallion, the damsel in distress, the misunderstanding, the child that was kept secret. Even the family that was disapproving of said damsel.

Nothing new to add to contemporary harlequins, the writing was simple and the characters predictable. What I fancied in this novel, was that in contrary to others, one gets to see what happens the day after. You know, every romance follow the principle of ending one way or another after the big declarations of love. Or the accepted marriage proposal. The credits fall and maybe the author indulges our curiosity of what happens next in the couple's life, with an epilogue. Well, not this one. Vittorio's Mistress continued on, after the secrets were revealed. On to said accepted marriage proposal. On to the meeting with the big family. On to the wedding. On to the epilogue and the life much after. I was always curious what happened to couples the day after, and this was -in a way- refreshingly pleasant to witness their lives. Someone might find it tiring and complain about too many endings, but in my POV, I found it adorable. What can I say, maybe I 'm a hopeless romantic but never knew... Sometimes, a change from the general rule is what makes a difference in a novel.

Dante and Paige had been lovers for two weeks when Dante bought and engagement ring for her. A couple months after that, Paige got pregnant. When she finds out she is two months pregnant, she asks Dante what he thinks about children and he tells her he does not want that duty till later in life, he wants to concentrate on his career. What he didn't tell her was, he is a millionaire and already had a career.

Paige never wanting to tie Dante down and never knowing about Dante's finances leaves him. She was pregnant and alone. She didn't want him to give up is dreams of having a career and being successful. She loves Dante way too much for that.

Four years later they run into each other again, Dante demands that she be his mistress for a month. Once the month is over, Paige tells him she is still in love with him but Dante won't hear of it, he lies and tells her it's revenge for her leaving him. Heartbroken and defeated Paige hardens her heart.

Dante eventually realizes he has a daughter named Daniella but Paige doesn't trust him. She trusts him enough to know he would never hurt their daughter but what about her?

The book was pretty awesomesauce. I've only read one Kimberely Reeves novel before but I got a whole bunch of them now to read, at least what was available. I really enjoyed this one but I often enjoy the pregnancy books, perhaps to much!

The story was common enough. An italian man and an english girl are lovers. The man keeps secrets that make her leave him despite her pregnancy. Then, he finds her again and wants revenge. Never mind that, if he were honest about himself, she wouldnot even consider leaving him.
And, to be sure, he blackmails her into having sex with him. Great way to make anyone love you, don't you think?
She, strangely, does not seem to suffer during the forced sex sessions. And he, suddenly, realizes, he's a father!
Now, she's supposed to forget the revenge plan and believe it was all due to love.
The most annoying part was the cold shoulder reception by the italian family. They acted like the hero was an abused 5-year-old and the heroine an officer in a nazi concentration camp. An angry italian mother-in-law, ouch! Heaven help you, once you have to deal with her!

I would have felt a whole lot different about this book had the heroine told the H about their child.. and I actually like the secret baby plot.. But this chick was with the H for a WHOLE MONTH, sleeping with him for a WHOLE MONTH and still didnt tell him they had a child.. And she probably wouldnt have either, had he not followed her. She would have HID her child for another month.. = stupid. And he (H) was an idiot for not knowing.. He had been in her house but failed to see all the evidence of a child (detailed description in book so it should have been obvious..

It was just alright. thank goodness it was free.

Loved reading this book! I hadn't read anything by this author before & i had read the excerpt on Amazon & thought it was my kind of book. Not to mention it was free. The author's words from the beginning grab me & I got into the story so much so that I felt like I was watching it unfold from above. The emotions I felt while reading this were like I was on a roller coaster ride. I will be downloading the rest of the books in this series. Cannot thank the author enough for giving me a very enjoyable read!

I really enjoyed Paige and Dante's story. I enjoyed both sides of the story and how both lost time with the love of their life because fear and lies. Paige left Dante because she did not want him hating her for getting pregnant and forcing his hand with marriage. Dante loved Paige but lied to her and was scared and lost her. Their journey back together was hard but ultimately fulfilling. I just wish I had read this after I had read the first two.

I got bored and started searching through my kindle for old books that I hadn't read yet and found this one. It was an ok read...predictable and yet entertaining, much like watched a soap opera with a hot bossy alpha and the wishy-washy woman who secretly had his baby and for whatever reason was hiding it.
Not bad for a beach read or when you want something light with minimal plot and lots of drama with steamy sex scenes.

**** 3.5 **** "she has his baby and now him" stars

This is the best story in the Vittorio family series. There are a lot of misunderstandings and omission of the truth in this story. I do love the secret love child scenario and a long lasting love affair and this story has the two things. I do love the name Dante for a hero.
This was free for kindle and a quick fun read. Nothing heavy or damaged souls in this light-hearted story.

Kimberley Reeves is a new author for me, but I thoroughly enjoyed "Vitorio's Mistress." I understand this was part of a series, but I feel like this could be a stand alone as well. Very well written, nice flow, and keeps you one your toes and turning pages! Loved it!!! I will be looking for more of Kimberley's books for my Kindle!

What can I say... When there is no communication there will be problems, in any relationship. Secrets do hurt. Still loved the fact that fate steps in and clears up past secrets on both sides. Am now waiting for Raffe and Luca's stories to be told.

She should have talked with him before she left him them years ago. She would have saved him and her some heart ache. But it all worked out in the end.
