I think this was trying to be romantic Gothic suspense, but I spent most of the pages I read wondering how the protagonist could be so stupid and breathe unassisted. I have zero desire to spend hours reading about someone I hope dies a painful death before the end of the book.
Although, considering I'm about to pick up yet another book featuring Rand al'Thor, the previous sentence might not be entirely true.
