I love this book. I love animals. I especially love penguins! It's a great informational books kids could use as a references for reports or anything on different cold life animals. The pictures for each animal are even better. There are a couple sad parts about the circle of life, but children have to know how animals survive. It also talks about what we do to our polar lands and how slowly but surely we are destroying it. It's a good book though.

Step into the Polar areas with Usborne's edition of Polar Wildlife. Breaking down areas, animals, and enviroment, Khanduri sets a standard for children's nonfiction with this book. Visually appealing and very credible. these books are a great source for anyone wanting to simply begin with their nonfiction adventure.

I really enjoyed the structure of this book. It definitely isn't a beginning reader, but any audience above that could surely appreciate how precise this story was. It started off by having the main text give a general description, and then on the sides, there would be pictures expanding on those concepts. There would also be separate illustrations giving other facts related to the topic.

The polar bear section was really great- they outlined bear tracking, a method I didn't learn about until about 6th grade, in a very clear model.
