I admit it, I'm a sucker for Feehan's Carpathians and other Alpha male supernatural types. If you, like me, ever wondered "What if Feehan wrote erotica?" then you really need to grab a copy of N.J. Walters' "Dalakis Embrace" in her 'Dalakis Passion' series. It's VERY reminiscent of Feehan in the mythology of vampires and the concept of a lifemate, but the scorching sexuality is erotica all the way! I call that the best of both worlds!

"Harker's Journey"-Johanna's dreams began the night of her eighteenth birthday. Her dream lover has come to her every month since on the night of the full moon and there isn't much they haven't tried sexually. At first, Johanna was sure it was real, but as the years passed, she managed to convince herself they were just really hot wet dreams. When she's given the assignment to travel to Transylvania with documents for her firm's richest, and most mysterious, client...she's excited! When he turns out to be the man from her dreams...she freaks.

"Lucian's Delight"-Lucian has waited over 500 years for his woman. When he first discovers, and saves, her in a dream, he finally knows she IS real and is in the same city as him. But even with their explosive attraction to each other, Delight Deveraux won't be mastered easily.

A little bit of danger, a lot of hot hunky vampires, and smoking sex...need I say more?

There are two short stories in this erotic vampire book. This series centers around 3 brothers--Dalakis--(vampires) looking for their mates via a shared dream. This book contains stories about the first two brothers.

The first was Harker's Journey and was 80 pages long, but page #1 begins on page number #13. There was very little to the first story and it started right off with a (12 years ago) flashback to a "dream" visit from Cris Dalakis (the eldest Dalakis brother) to Johanna Harker's bedroom when she was 18 years old. No character building. No emotional plot or drama. Just started right off with the vampire claiming his mate. The scenes were very mechanical and without the necessary plot or character interaction were very boring.

The second story was Lucian's Delight (another brother), that comes to find his mate in a reoccurring dream nightmare in a cemetery. It started right off like the first with no character building, no emotional build-up and that's all This Reader could take. Unfinished.

I got this on a weekly special via The Cave when I placed another book order...$10, I think. I will be more careful in the weekly specials from now on.

There was not much substance to this story. Plus way too much of the vampire mythos were taken from Christine Feehan's Dark series. It really seemed like she read a Dark book and decided to make it more erotic, which is fine but she could have been more original.

Okay stories, nothing great.

This book is the first two stories of the Dalakis series anthologized. The first story is long on heavy breathing, short on plot and has no supporting cast. The second is better - more plot and even has interesting supporting characters! Still has lots of sex but it doesn't exist in isolation. A read-once but intrigued me enough to pick up the rest of the series. [#3 and #4 are EXCELLENT!:]

Dalakis Passion Series [available as ebooks, Ellora's Cave:]
#1 Harker's Journey
#2 Lucian's Delight
in print as Dalakis Embrace
#3 Stefan's Seduction
#4 Eternal Brothers
#5 Endless Chase [forthcoming:]

CAUTION - SPOILER ALERT!!!
This is actually a combo of Harker's Journey and Lucian's Delight. While Harker's Journey kept me interested I felt it was nothing more that girl finds that the man she dreams of every full moon is real, he claims her as his and his alone and they constantly have hot sex. Then the story ends. My only thought after I read it was "that's it?" I don't think this one could have stood alone as a single and the publisher was wise to combine the two books.
Lucian's Delight was somewhat better (to me) than the first story because there was actually a story to the book along with the man claiming his woman and them constantly having hot sex. I won't give any spoilers on this one. If the author were to have fleshed out the story a bit more, this book could have stood on its own. Had it been a stand alone, I would have given a better rating. Unfortunately the first story brought it down a notch. Still, I look forward to reading the 3rd book of the trilogy.

Book 1 and 2 are in this one amazing book...I could not help but fall in luv with Cristofor Dalakis the head of a very old vampire family... The heroine Johanna has courage and lots of spunk....As the two meet and colide, sparks fly and become a raging furnace..

Book 2 Lucian Dalakis is an alpha male that exudes arragance....Delight has had to raise her younger brother that has given her an independant and confident nature...We trouble strikes can she accept help from a man who has only appeared in her dreams?

I loved both of these stories, Harkers journey and Lucians Delight. My only criticism is that the heroines in both stories were too quick to bed the heroes. It left me feeling like the heroines morals were a bit loose.
