Heading west to become a schoolteacher in the New Mexico Territory following the sudden death of her parents, St. Louis beauty Sara Clayton falls for a handsome half-Spanish, half-Comanche man on the journey. Original.
First I'd like to thank my sister for letting me raid her old romance novels. Being me(super extra) I of course only picked the most unpopular books because... ME!
I love Historical Fiction, but Historical Romance just isn't really my thing but I'm trying to widen my romance horizons. So first I'll start with the positives of this book:
-There was no rape! - The female main character was just as into sex as her love interest - The language wasn't super flowery
Now on to the negatives:
- The 2 leads had no chemistry - Too many characters - Racially insensitive language - Several plots were introduced and then forgotten until the end - The ending was super rushed
I will say that this book was a super(drink every time you read the word SUPER) fast read. I couldn't put the book down even though I didn't love it.
I don't know if it was me or the book and since I'm not a romance reader I won't give a recommendation.
