Beavers

Rate this book
Nature photographer Earl L. Hilfiker's fascination with beavers began when beavers began when he was provided some kits by the New York Conservation Department to use as part of an exhibit for the Rochester Museum. Instead of mounting them he created models an then turned the kits loose in the park at Mendon Ponds where they established their own lodges and their descendants continued to provide a "live education" exhibit for visitors. The author has traveled widely to document the natural world on film and then has visited countless schools and organizations to stare with them his love of the out-of-doors and the photographs of the creatures that live there. In this book, as with his movie and slide shows. Earl Hilfiker takes you deep into the background of the beaver so that you will learn the importance they have had in the history of North America. See the beaver close up with his neighbors who live in and near beaver ponds and learn how each plays a part in the eco-system.
