Jesus Bus

Dot Knight's Sunday school class goes with her to coerce the local migrant community to attend revival at the Baptist church, in order to fill up the class's pew and make points with the preacher for Miss Dot. Knowing little Spanish, Dot frequently consults her guide to speaking Spanish, creating enormous communication messes, while the children have no trouble communicating with the poor Hispanic children through play and common adversity.

I have a large family and most live on our property, in South Georgia, Cow Creek Farm. No, we don't farm, and no, we no longer have cows. The name is derived from a creek called "Cow" that flows through our property.

I'm giving this a two star solely because we already know from the previous short story that Dot is prejudiced. This Kindle short repeats that fact except this one focuses on Hispanic transients. Dot is using her Spanish translation book in order to communicate with the Spanish-speaking people to invite them to Vacation Bible School. She doesn't always use the correct word in translation, causing confusion. She's wanting to get her Holy Jesus points, seemingly with God and with her current church's pastor. Having her picture taken is just the proof of how she is working for the Lord.
