Imagine in one book having new incredible breakthrough research on mind-body healing, combined with the practical step-by-step logic of Stephen Covey to implement the healing process, delivered with the sincerity and compassionate heart of someone who spent years trying to heal themselves, who understands first-hand the struggles and obstacles, and the disappointment of trying every possible remedy… and then triumph of healing when everyone else said it was impossible. There you have the essence of Master Your Mind to Heal Your Body by Brandy Gillmore. It is filled with heart, practical knowledge and breakthrough discoveries that not only have the ability to help you heal yourself, but can also help you radically change your life. Written from a deep sense of mission and love, Brandy’s book has the ability to change our world by showing readers how to harness the greatest gift they have – the power of their minds – to heal their bodies and improve the quality of their lives.
I was disappointed in this book. It gets a pass, but only because I fully believe in the mind-body's ability to heal outside of what we are taught conventionally. I know this because I have experienced healing that doctors said was impossible.
Something felt off. It wasn't well-written. (Some of that falls to the editor.) Things felt forced and clunky. At times Brandy was too vague, and other times she was redundant (like when she'd put parentheses around the word 'alters' when describing DID personalities. Once would suffice.) I also find trademarks and branding off-putting. Saying this is not a reflection of Brandy Gillmore as a person. She does seem lovely and I give her all the kudos for being able to heal herself, and then to offer this GIFT to the others in her own way.
I'm glad Brandy brought up Spiritual Integrity. A key on the path to healing is that aligning with our soul intuition. Veering away from our true self and center—even in seemingly harmless ways—causes us to fall out of alignment which often results in some form of suffering. Of course, one requires a healthy conscience for this to be true.
It must be emphasized that having a certain health issue or issues does not mean there is something wrong with us as people. We can be healed but not cured. Our health issues and traumas can be catalysts to awakening. Awakening isn't an easg process. Can we see that everything in our lives is working for our highest good and the good of all?
Anyone looking for further help healing in a similar vein can watch the "Rewired" program by Dr Joe Dispenza At the time of this review it's on the Gaia app.
Martha Beck's "The Way of Integrity" is a beautiful read. I don't think she discusses her healing in there, but I know she healed herself from fibromyalgia and believes it was because she started living in authentic alignment with her soul.
This is an excellent and well-written book that is both a first-hand account of personal healing as well as a detailed step-by-step manual and instructions of the methods applied and used. After outlining her innovative GIFT method, Brandy delves into techniques that can help you heal yourself from diseases, ailments, and chronic pain, and she gives a number of stories and personal anecdotes that serve as models and examples.
Part of it is based on science, other parts lean more into psychoanalysis while she also gives spirituality its well-deserved due and worth; all in all, it is a comprehensive and effective view of how deep healing can occur.
It involves looking for the root causes, which are lodged in the subconscious and can come from faulty or misguided links, associations, and wiring, negative experiences, trauma or other events and emotions that have lasting effects on us, and then to replace them or to reprogram ourselves with our own updated power visions that can lead not only to healing but also growth and fulfillment.
There are significant overlaps and similarities between her methods and the ones that I have used on my self for my own emotional healing with only slight differences in how to approach the final outcome. That said, there is an abundance of insight here that is going to be of benefit to anyone who wants to actually heal and live more fully as opposed to just treating symptoms and merely getting by and surviving on a day-to-day basis. Highly recommended!
This book was well detailed and full of helpful information and insight. If you want to better yourself through healing and understanding about how your thoughts and past connection to healing this book is great. Keep in mind, it's a lot of information to soak up, remember, and involves extensive follow through on your part.
This book sets out clearly and lovingly the steps to take to heal your body. It is so well researched that I feel confident these approaches will help me to heal.
I am disappointed in this book. It is over complicated, repetitious and at time annoying. The author likes acronyms and abbreviations but they are clunky and irritating. Just try Lester Levenon's Release Technique instead (versions include the Sedona Method and the Abundance program).
