So, more than ever, it is incumbent upon us to talk to our youth, and even we adults should reflect on the greatness of our great Muslim heroes from our Islamic past, who built the most glorious and powerful civilization of all, who took a crass society of measly people and gave them Islam that dramatically improved their lives.
Darussalam is presenting this book to our youth hoping that they will find in it great examples, persons and models to follow and develop their own personalities accordingly.

The editing could be better as there are lots of repeated Ahadeeth; also some of the narrations do not have references so validating the authenticity was a bit difficult.

It was amazing.
The blurb on goodreads presents this book to the youth in hopes that they can find tenacious, aspirational and steadfast role models who they can seek to imitate. That is a glorious message .
No one and nobody can compete with the sahaba in terms of their commitment, stoicism, resilience, patience, altriusm, chastity, generosity, taqwa, forbearance, benevolence and iman. Forget about your petty musicians and corrupt billionaires who will bring you nothing but disappoint and divert your attention to greatness, to success
That being said there are some nitpicks:
- I am unsure of a hadith. It seems like a variation of one existing one. It is the one where Allah's Messenger (SAW) and some exemplary, prominent companions are on Mount Uhud when it quivered
But the hadith listed 7 people on the mountain. Maybe martyr is plural ?? Not sure
- The symbol of (RA) and (SAW) is missing in some areas
- Lots of repeated ahadith which is fine but you really notice it as the book progresses
I appreciate that when the section concerning the appearance of a particular sahaba came, the author emphasised that we should not focus on our physical features, rather Allah (SWT) looks at your deeds and inner beauty. This is critical to avoid the needless obsession on the physical attributes of someone.
Overall I 110% enjoyed this book, which means it was phenomenal because I haven't given this rating to anything else. I wished it was actually longer but alas, I can continue my learning elsewhere. Ultimately, it was a learning experience, a refresher and an eye-opener about the impeccable people that served the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and the extreme lengths they exerted in order to uphold the deen
The individuals listed in this book are superhuman. They sacrificed everything in the path of Allah (SWT) and his messenger (SAW). Truly the pinnacle of mankind

A good overview of our prophets companions.
I recommend this book to those who want to know a little more about the ten companions faithful to Mohammed (pbuh) and continued the example of how to live in Islam.

A great book to study!

The book itself is beautiful and simple, yet I could not read it properly due to a poor job by the publisher who sent out a heavily misprinted copy. Became unbearable halfway through.

I have been reading many religious books to refresh my beliefs but i found this book excellent for me. Books include many true historical islamic stories which really help me to understand the original perspective of islamic woman life. I have also explored complete book list of Darussalam publishers. Well for me it was great and i will recommend it.

Beautiful content, however the inconsistent formatting, the spelling mistakes etc. really let the book down.
