Good but wildly uneven collection of academic writing on cult films. At least one chapter here seems totally out of place-- when I think "cult film," I don't really think "niche porno"-- and some of the writing regarding internet groups of cult fans is already dated. However, the good stuff here is really good, including a fascinating meditation on the Doris Wishman/Chesty Morgan films and a highly entertaining essay on being a fan of "Showgirls."

What a roller coaster ride through all kinds of weird topics and movies. From squirting to Rollerball, Fulci's Waste Land to Enter the Dragon. A large section on Russ Meyer and his bosomania. David Cronenberg, Chesty Morgan (obscure movie about a woman with a camera implanted in her breast), The Exorcist. You get snuffed out with Faces of Death and American Cannibale. This is more than meets the eye. Grab horror with both hands. Highly recommended trip to the dark side of imagination.
