Another hidden gem I stumbled on, accidentally. I think I devoured this book at every chance I got.

Extremely detailed, factual and mythological, an elaborate looking glass to the history of fearless Northmen. The beauty of it is the book has reference from different clusters, Norse, Icelandic, German and so on.. It also carries stories of Asgardians as well as the Midgardians. What I also like about is the description of how Christianity trampled, destroyed and disfigured ages old beliefs, cultures and put everything that’s not Christian into one bag called “evil things”.

All in all, it’s a very educational and an eye opening book. Very well explained with references and further notes, I think it’s a must read for anyone who is interested in history and one of the oldest cultures in the world which is, paganism.

Her şeyden önce bunu da sesli kitap olarak "okuduğumu" söyleyerek başlayayım. Bu mitoloji serisinden yakınlarda Babil Mitolojisi kitabını okumuştum ve aslında bu serinin ilk kitabı buymuş. Neyse başlayalım çok uzatmadan. Genel olarak hoşuma giden fakat İskandinav mitolojisi hakkında zaten temel bilgilere sahip olan birisi olarak çok fazla yeni şey öğrenmediğim ve yer yer sıkıldığım bir kitap oldu. Bu tabi ki çok kişisel bir şey olduğu için aslında kitap kötü demek değil. İskandinav mitolojisine giriş yapacak kişiler için güzel bir kitap olabilir. Tanrılar dışında kahramanlar ile ilgili anlatılan hikayeler de güzeldi. Normalde birçok kitap sadece Odin, Thor, Freya vs. birkaç kişinin üzerinden gidiyor ve bu da yetersiz kalıyor. Kısaca, İskandinav mitolojisine hakimim diyorsanız hatırlama amaçlı veya birkaç yeni şey öğrenmek için işinizi görebilir. Fakat yeni başlayacak kişilere daha uygun olduğunu düşünüyorum ben.

A very good book but i found it way to complex. I have read another books on norse mythology way simpler and interesting. Still is a very informative book.

Mê Marvel mới lục lọi đi tìm đọc thần thoại Bắc Âu, một nền văn minh đã mất, không còn được ưa chuộng như thần thoại Hi Lạp hay thần thoại Ai Cập.
Nhưng nhắc đến Bắc Âu, chắc ai cũng phải liên tưởng đến phù thủy, pháp sư, nơi mọi phép thuật hùng mạnh nhất khởi nguồn.

Tuy giọng văn hơi ngây ngô và sử dụng thủ pháp nói quá ở đa phần những chi tiết diễn tả nhân vật, nhưng câu chuyện đủ hài hước để giải trí sau những giờ làm việc căng thẳng :)). Qua truyện mình mới hiểu về gốc tích của nhân vật Thor và Lokie, không khác phim là mấy.

Mitolojiye başladığım kitap aslında. Kitabi okurken kafam bazen çok karışıyordu tamamen bilgi odaklı bir kitap bu yüzden kafamın karışması normal. Beni mitolojiden soğutmayip daha da merak ettirmisti-iskandimav mitolojisi de en sevdiğim mitolojilerden biri haline gelmişti

Seslendirilmiş kitap serüveni sürüyor. Kitabın kahramanlarla olan kısmı biraz ağır ilerliyor, yer yer sıkıyor. Ancak edebiyattan aşina olduğumuz kimi olayların buralardan esinlenildiğini ayırt edebiliyorsunuz. Yine de başvuru kaynağı olarak değerlendiriyorum.

This book is exactly what I was looking for when I wanted to learn about the Norse gods, it is very informational easy to understand. I would recommend this book to people who want to read about the Norse gods, their origins, and a little about the religion surrounding specific gods.
