It's family warfare now that Ryoki's mother has dished some serious dirt about big brother Shinogu's past, resulting in Hatsumi's heavenly bro leaving on bad terms. Hoping to dissuade him from forever severing his ties with the Narita household, Hatsumi swings by Shinogu's pad, but not before dropping in on Ryoki and making his day.

Son stata "schiavista" in gioventù: potevo girarmi G. e F. come volessi.
Ci ho messo mesi a ritrovarla.
I understand and know that Ryoki came from a COMPLETELY unloving and uncaring childhood home, however that doesn't give him the right to act so cruel and be so controlling towards Hatsumi. Hatsumi needs to stand up for herself and teach Ryoki how to love properly and what it means to have a family. Ryoki has been BEYOND lacking in familial love, so Hatsumi should make him understand show him why she doesn't just choose him over her family. I don't understand why these two can't have a mature conversation where they explain each others POV without being mean or running off. If they did that, maybe Ryoki would have been more understanding. However, this is not an excuse to tell her to ignore her family completely, he may be able to do it, but Hatsumi cannot.
They have such potential to be a healthy relationship but they're both so dumb. This series romanticizes problematic things and uses it as entertainment. Do I recognize this is wrong? Yes! Do I still love this series and find it very entertaining? Yes! 0-0
Here are the thoughts that were going through my head as I read this volume:
“UGH!! Ryoki is such a f*ckin’ douche nozzle! Look at him being such a controlling prick telling Hatsumi she has to choose and she cannot have both. UGH!! She should really just punch him in the jeans!”
“Just tell him off Hatsumi! Tell him to go suck himself! Just do it! Stand up for yourself for once….. YES!! YES!! FINALLY!! I mean, it’s not exactly how it should have went, but at least she made a choice that wasn’t made for her for once!!”
“SHINOGU!! YES!! SHINOGU!! LOOK!! GIVE HIM A BIG HUG!! *tears in eyes* JUST JUMP INTO HIS ARMS, CRY, AND LOVE HIM!!!!!!!...........okay, so she hardly reacted…. that was anticlimactic.”
“UGH!! WHAT THE HELL HATSUMI!!!!!! You finally decided to ditch that controlling assmunch who basically said you can’t have any other happiness in your life that doesn’t revolve around him and YOU’RE CRYING OVER IT!!!!!! ARE YOU FOR REAL!!!?!?!?!?!?!”
And lastly
“YES!!!!!!!!!! MOVE IN WITH SHINOGU AND LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!! LOVE HIM FOREVER BECAUSE HE IS THE ONLY DECENT MAN IN THIS ENTIRE SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Why I Recommend Bumping This Down On Your TBR: It romanticizes abuse. The male love interests are all abusive: physically, verbally, emotionally, etc. They're all controlling and their behaviors are appalling.
The interesting thing about this series is that the protagonist calls the main love interest out on his abusive behavior. They discuss it on the page. And yet they're still together?
Running away together? That’s is indeed some high school drama shit. The love triangle is really messing with Hatsumi’s head because she can’t choose either her bro who gave her love & protection since she was a child or Ryoki; who recently she fall in love with. Poor girl. I would just run away to the forest and stay there until I rot.
All is expose. Now is the time for the stuck up Mrs. Tachibana to pay for her sins. After years of trash talking and bullying the apartment complex’s resident, now she get what she deserved; her own husband cheats with one of the resident. Serves her right. Karma is bitting her back in the ass. Azusa mother is more hotter than her anyway lmao.
Not to forget, the way Ryoki diss her mother’s sin all this time and expose his dear papa’s scandal out in the open for his family to listen too is some king shit!!!
Well there it is, it's all finally out on the god damn table! It only took us 10 mangas to keep hinting at what us as readers pretty much already knew was going to happen. Ryoki is still a abusive prick yet now Hatsumi actually loves him. I don't see this love triangle ending well for anyone. Azusa is pretty much out of the running and now it's down to the jerk or her adopted brother but it seems clear she doesn't see Shinogu in the same way. 2 more volumes left and I'm not sure why I'm still reading this train wreck, I just want to see who ends up with who I guess.

My love for Ryoki knows no bounds. He's so adorable I can't stand it. This volume gives us more of his Test Brain thought process. I love the way he thinks of everything in terms of multiple choice and math equations. I thought I was going to die of cute when he made Hatsumi hold hands with their fingers laced together because that's 128% couple-like, while clasping is only 45%. BUT, what Ryoki sees in Hatsumi I will never know; she's a spineless wuss and he deserves better. (Oh shoujo manga, why do you do this to me so often?) Also, why I love Japanese: この俺がこんなにすきでいてやってんのに You just can't translate that into English.
Oh the rollercoaster this volume put me through. So many emotions and feels. For one we are started with things going well for the couple. However, in true shojo fashion, control was lost and things got bad. Very bad as the truth about Azusa's mom was revealed to everyone. It also led to the downfall of Hatsumi and Ryoki's budding relationship.

Ryoki is such a controlling asshole. But I'm glad Hatsumi has somewhat come to her senses (though I have a feeling she might go bzck to Ryoki - she seems to enjoy abusive relationships. The ending of this volume was very good - lots of tension and drama.
In regards to Ryoki: About time, Hatsumi. About time. Though why you waited this long, for that to (almost) happen... Plus, like father, like son. In regards to Shinogu and Hatsumi: this shall be interesting.
