Bibliographic features 100 seminal books on graphic design ranging from the 1920s to today. Included are heavy-hitters of the profession: Paul Rand, Wolfgang Weingart, Milton Glaser, Stephan Sagmeister, Cahan & Associates, and more.

The book-about-books nature of Bibliographic actually worked quite well, especially given many of these books are now out-of-print, or ridiculously expensive. It successfully captured the spirit of important and influential design books, a dozen of which I had never heard about before.

In addition to the gorgeous visuals, Jason Godfrey's descriptions of each book were perfect: in pithy paragraphs, he blended information about the book's importance in history and information about how the book was printed or designed. Godfrey cautions that the book is "not a history of graphic design through its books," but it's certainly not a bad place to start looking.

100 Classic Graphic Design Books Review:

As a graphic designer, I need to check trends both new and old. I found this book in a shop and bought it. Recently I started reading this book more visually than writing.

Also, I think you can see these lists online rather than buying a physical print.

This book is divided into 6 parts:

1- Typography Books
2- Sourcebooks
3- Instructional Books
4- History Books
5- Anthology Books
6- Monograph Books

You can read this book in a day or two maybe.

A beautiful book. We take for granted so many symbols such as toilet signs in our lives. Someone had to come up with that design.
