WOW!

No ratings or reviews of this book on Goodreads. I can not find any details anywhere online.

Am I the only person in the world (or at least Goodreads) to read this book?

I got it from a charity shop along with another 6 books. All in the horror section.

As it has no details, I decided it would be my next book to read.

The author mainly wrote books for children. Or possibly this was his only adult book?

Found out there is another adult book called “Vandals” which has no ratings or reviews.

I love the cover of The Loop and it was published in 1981 so that’s what got my interest. The 80’s!

Then I noticed a description at the top states “A terrifying psychological thriller”

So may not be a horror at all. More a thriller.

About a former student at a school in a village where killings took place. He went back to his schoolyears to find out who the killer was. Had a sense of coming of age.

Well, here’s the blurb from the back.

“It was the birthmark that brought it all back to him. The cosy village school, the kindly caretaker – and the horrifying unsolved mystery of the child murders. But when a close-knit community hides a secret like that for twenty years, how safe is it to dig beneath the surface?

Andy Macdonald will face suicide pacts and a conspiracy of silence before the killer comes to find him…”

Here are 2 newspaper comments on the back.
“High grade blend of childhood innocence and scalp-crawling fears.”

“Wallace Hildick raises the English killer-thriller to a new power.”

Two last notes from me

If you find it…..then read it.
