[EDIT: Finished Now, More Added]

[Im only 46% through this book, but wanted to get a number of points out now.
My personal life has taken a rather odd turn and I'm going to be busier than I have been this past few weeks for a bit.

For this reason, I'm afraid I have to put this book aside (for now!) as I wont enjoy it. Rushing through a good book is not a fun experience and tends to destroy the story for me. Trying to squeeze in a few extra pages whilst studying, working and trying to stay calm in between driving lessons wouldnt do this book justice. It just wouldnt be fair on such a talented writer.

Once I garner a bit more free time, this is at the top of my TBR pile.]

-The plot and characters have went from strength to strength as this series progressed. Alley actively used the criticism she recieved after the release of Erich's Plea (The Witchcraft Wars, #1) by Tracey Alley and tightened up her character development and pacing. The world she was creating and the characters she was writing were developed through each other rather than as seperate entities. Everything began to gel in Ursula's Quest (The Witchcraft Wars, #2) by Tracey Alley , I waited like a kid that knows christmas is coming on the final instalment. Despite being delayed due to uncontrolable circumstances, I saw it appear on my kindle and got stuck in...
And everything I've said above is still true. The world is still amazing. Expanding in detail as the plot flows out. Questions get answered, at times in ways so unexpected that I was kicking myself for not seeing the clues. The Characters are growing and I cant wait to see them reach the end of the journey.
Update
And now that I have, wow, the ending drew all the threads together, and the characters stayed true to themselves to bring it about. This was what worried me the most, as I could see parts of it coming, but not the whole picture.

Now for the bad part. The bit i hate about reviewing stuff. Whats wrong?

Why has it taken me to long to get this far into it?
Well, besides life stealing free time, there is something getting in the way of me having finished this a few hours after I got my paws on it. (and no, its not the refresh time on the kindle - that actually helps me slow down to a more reasonable reading pace ^^;;)
This book needs a second look over. Its mostly minor things - wrong characters used for punctuation, quotation marks etc ,, instead of "...simple thing, that pull you right out of the story and into the real world. After a while, I need to stop, as i begin to focus more on this than the book, and it is the book im wanting to read and review.
Another thing is the sentance fragments, words and images obscuring text (this is how it appears, and may not be the case) and sentances split in half and scattered around paragraphs.
I really do hope this is a formatting problem on the kindle edition only, caused by a corrupt upload. Why do i hope this? well, I plan to buy the paperback when its out - this is one Fantasy Epic that I want to have on my shelf (the other two books currenty look lonely, and jealous of the kindle having the complete trilogy).

If the formatting errors get fixed out, and another proof read over it to fix the mixed up sentances that dot through the book, its definately a 5 star read. I'm really impressed by both the scope of the story - for a first time fantasy author, and the incredible progress Tracey has made as an author as the books have progressed. This series is definately worth a buy!

Slade’s Destiny – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat and Think With Your Taste Buds

‘Ming could hear the click of armor and the rhythmic pounding of many, many feet as they drew closer. She could feel her heartbeat increasing and pounding heavily in her chest, using the exercises and skills taught to her as a monk she tried to quiet her rapidly beating heart. Panic and fear would only cause her to make mistakes; she needed a cool, clear and calm head. It was one of the first lessons learned in the warrior training at the Black Lotus. Less than an hour had passed before the group got their first look at the approaching army. In spite of the lanterns it was still shadowy along the length of the underground roadway. They could not be certain who they faced but she noted with a sense of relief that the army, and an enormous army at that, seemed to be primarily made of up the very dwarves that Zexsan had been leading them to see. In the very back she could just make out a group of taller figures that indicated an almost equally large human following closely behind the dwarves.’

Ming is just one of the key elements that must put a stop to the witch Shallendara’s attempt to open the portals that will cause total destruction to their world. Slade and his sister Ursula, as well as many others, have vowed to rescue their father King Erich after his kidnapping. To do this they must stand against their older brother Ulrich who has taken over the throne. Both realize his evilness and also the fact that he may have had a hand in the kidnapping as well as the death of their mother. But time is running out. Shallendara has learned what is required to open the portal. She must acquire two of the three gemstones required for the opening. When these two are brought together, the third will follow. The mystery is her motive. With the destruction of the world how does she expect to survive? How can she be stopped?

Then there is Nexus who has worked with Shallendara as a joint quest to find the stones and open the portal. But can she really trust him? Is his motive real or does he have ideas of his own? Will the two continue to work together or will they betray each other?

Book Three of the Witchcraft Wars has been a true page turner. I couldn’t wait to see Slade’s Destiny would really become the end of the series or hopefully lead to a 4th. I was completely surprised by the ending! And to my delight, there are many possibilities for continuation. Hopefully soon. My advice, read the complete set of the Witchcraft Wars in order. You won’t be disappointed.

This final book of the trilogy was action-packed and very involved - I couldn't put it down! The characters all find their fates, and the ending is both beautiful and surprising. I love how the characters evolved over this series, and how detailed the world is. I highly recommend this series!
