This book was recommended to me by one of the retired pastors in my church, Will Bloedow. Now Will has had his share of marrying and burying plenty of my fellow Lutherans in his 35 years as a Lutheran minister, and he suggested that this would be an interesting book for me to read. It was. The author comes from a family of undertakers. His father, having seen every imaginable type of death, was most hesitant to even allow Tom or his siblings to venture out of doors. The author follows in his father's footsteps, and even embalms his father when he passes. Mr. Lynch in a highly intelligent man with the eye and the soul of a poet. In fact, he has written several books of poetry that I intend to read. We are all heading toward Mr. Lynch, or one of his profession. Read the novel and learn about our future from their perspective.
