From the national bestselling author of The Departed comes an all new novel of danger, intrigue, and a love stronger than death...
AN ETERNAL DESIRE
With his strong psychic ability, FBI Agent Joss Crawford longs for the woman he loved in a past life. But after years of searching, a new case is drawing him into the last place he'd ever want to find her: an underground slave ring. Going undercover to infiltrate the network, he meets Drucella Chapman--the mastermind's fiancee. Joss has every reason to believe she's evil. So why is he irresistibly drawn to her?
A DANGEROUS GAME
Drucella has made it her personal mission to bring the slave ring down. But the sadistic ring leader is even more careful than he is cruel. In order to gain information, Dru has had to get close to the very man she wishes to kill, psychically reading his memories bit by bit. she'd do anything to finish the job, but agreeing to marry him may have been a step too far--even for her.
A FATEFUL ENCOUNTER
Though Joss and Dru are both undercover, nothing can disguise the sense of deja vu they experience when they meet. Neither can afford to be distracted from the mission at hand, but perhaps their reunion is exactly what this mission needs...

Bio...
Shiloh Walker has been writing since she was a kid. She fell in love with vampires with the book Bunnicula and has worked her way up to the more...ah...serious vampire stories. She loves reading and writing anything paranormal, anything fantasy, and nearly every kind of romance. Once upon a time she worked as a nurse, but now she writes full time and lives with her family in the Midwest.
The Reunited is a story of lost lovers and reincarnation mixed with a lot of pain, anger, torture and despicable antagonist. It's not a spoiler since it's in the summary and it's clear right from the beginning that their flashbacks are to something that happened in another time.
There are some triggers. The villain of the story is completely evil. The sides are clearly distinguished. I'll just say he sells young girls and let you fill in the rest. The man is beyond despicable. So if you expect a complex and layered character, this would be a miss. Nothing exceptional either way.
As all other characters in this series, both Joss and Dru have a psychic gift. She can read the past from whatever or whomever she touches. Joss is a mirror; he can sync with one or more other psychics to receive their gifts. Dru has help from another gifted person. I hope he'll get his own book.
The book gets a bonus for making Cullen from the first book grovel a bit. I wasn't satisfied with the level of grovelling (or the lack of it) in the first book.
My first impression was… What’s happening here? Who is who and who does what ???
And it took me a long while to understand.
There were to many flash-backs to many Flash. Flash. Flash. I understand that we’re talking here about psychic powers, but it was soooo confusing.
There’re many different layers in this book: past lives, his undercover, her undercover, other people having psychic powers, helping, not helping, saying, not saying, various POVs, insta-lust/love, emotions…. I often got lost.
Ah, that there were ghosts. A lot of ghosts crying, suffering, dying, calling for help…
It was really creepy sometimes, but also frustrating.
But I got on and after a while the action got more interesting and I could follow more comfortably all that was happing.
It is very dark and every character has his sufferings, problems and also his own psychic power. But the problem for me was not that; it was the feeling of almost unwillingness to just kill the bastard (villain). Why not just kill him (maybe even torturing him a little before…)? But they put on this complicated ruse… Why??? With all that awesome powers there wasn’t anybody who could just POOFFFF and annihilate him?
It s implied that they were doing all this to save the enslaved girls, but also here, with some kind of mind-control (and it is implied that one of the characters has it) wouldn’t that could be achieved that way?
It seemed also that they spent a huge amounts of energy to build shields instead of using it to fight the villain.
Another asinine plan was the heroine’s one. She get herself engaged to the villain to find proof of his evil-doings. And stays with him two years, letting him slap her, f*uck her, control her… 2 YEARS!!! Is she insane??? And to think that her power is psychometrics, so she feels flashes of his torturing the girls every time he touches her!!! OMG!!!! Pure lunacy, in my opinion!
Don’t get me wrong here, the book was good, just made me confuse/mad sometimes. The story was engaging and made me shiver to think that something like this could happen (and probably is) in the real world!
Could be that after The Missing and The Departed I was expecting too much? Maybe… I’m a little disappointed, that’s all.
But, I’ll still read the next instalment of the series!
Although I started out liking this series, I could never get into this book. I skimmed a lot and thought about DNFing a number of times. It just came off as OTT with all the characters' paranormal skills overshadowing any plot. In the end, I was just glad it was over.
This is the third book in the "FBI Psychics" series and it is a book that I have to say concentrated more on the case rather than the romance end of things. Joss Crawford is an FBI Agent who has some heavy duty psychic abilities. He is what is called a "mirror" and is able to touch another person with ablities, obtain their abilities, and have them as his own until he moves onto the next. He basically "syncs" with the individual and can use their talents for as long as he wants. He is called into to an extremely hard core case that is dealing with an underground slave ring. Drucella is a woman who personally has sacrificed a large portion of her time to settle the score with the head of this slave ring. She doesn't work with the FBI, she is on her own but has managed to be undercover and is engaged to the monster that runs this horrible ring. She also has certain abilities; but she is rapidly reaching the end of her rope. Her "fiance" is a horror, and Dru has lived through many untold terrors just to bring him down. There is an added twist to this all, and that is the fact that Joss and Dru have a past. When I say a past, I mean they knew each other in a past life. Before they can be reunited, these two are unaware that they are working on the same case through different means. Joss remembers his past life, whereas Dru does not recollect the past. Will these two be able to come together before things blow out of control? Will Dru remember who Joss really is to her? This was a great book full of action, drama, and some sex. Of course anything that Shiloh Walker writes has sizzling hot sex! It was an additional pleasure to get to catch up with some of the other characters from book one and two! My only complaint was that Joss and Dru weren't even aware of on another until about 30% of the book, and they didn't totally "reconnect" until 80%. There was a lot of interaction in their dreams; and there were a few steamy scenes in the dreams, I just prefer to have more romance in my story. That being said, this still was an excellant book. I look forward to hopefully having a book written about "Tucker." He is a person I am totally intrigued by! All in all it was a good read. I love anything Shiloh Walker writes, and I will be awaiting book #4!
I received this book for free through Goodreads first reads and I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could. I really liked this book.
I got caught up in it because of the possibilities it presented for the characters. The characters are vivid and you either love them, hate them, or don't care (but still are interested). I could visualize them, which made them more real, which in turn made the story that much more enjoyable. It started a bit slow for me but once I passed page 20 it got moving and putting it down was not an easy thing to do. Every time I decided I had to go to bed, something would happen and I had to get to that next chapter to see what was going to happen and to whom. The subject matter could be considered distasteful but it's handled in a mature and tasteful manner.
I will be reading the previous books and looking for the next with anticipation. For me the mark of a good book is if I find myself absorbed in the characters and rooting for them. If romance and mystery/suspense interest you. Then this is a book to go for.
It was off, it just didn't hit the mark for me, it was like it was written by a different author or was part of a different series but, in no way could i place it in the same series as FBI Pyschics, i understand that when i'm reading about reincarnation there would be alot of back and forth in the story and i'm good with it, i actually like that but, add to the mix alot of flash flash flash flash flashflash well, u get the point, and a whole lot of POV's from every character in the book even ones that haven't been introduced but, were just thrust at you in the middle of a paragraph you are reading, and you know what you get? flash flash flash, "You Get One Big Effing MESS" and this is the first book that didn't give me a closure, yes the villian died but what about the girls? What about all the souls that were screaming and sobbing???
Joss is a mirror, all Taylor has to do is sync with him for the gifts required from other operatives. He is now neck deep in a human trafficking ring and battling to hold onto his sanity. Then there is Dru who has been working her own angle on the missing women. Both of them have a shared past and he is desperate for history to not repeat itself.
I love this series. It is my favorite by Ms. Walker.
I will say I was a little confused at the beginning. I wasn't sure exactly what was going on. Once I got into just a little bit, it got much better. It is pretty intense with the human trafficking issue going on. There are also some new characters along with some old ones coming back.
2.5⭐️ This book had some scenes that were hard limits for me and I hated them. I should have known going in this wasn’t going to be my cup of tea. The writing is good, but I just couldn’t get past some plot points I hated.
Hard to follow. Dru and Dez - Jones and Joss Maybe because it had been too long since I read The Departed. Teague having a 'daughter'... don't remember that -
I got through it. Maybe someday I'll re-read all three back to back.
Psychics, mystery and romance, this series ticks all my boxes and is well written I like the fact that there are recurring main characters woven into the stories, although each book is a standalone... still not a fan of the crudely described sex scenes.
Joss Crawford is an FBI agent working for a special task force that is a little different than most, as many of the agents have special psychic powers. He is known as a mirror, one that can take the abilities of others he is mind-melted with which makes him a very valuable agent.
For most of his life, he has been searching for a woman, one he has had weekly dreams about since he found her grave in college. In his dreams he remembers being with her and dying at the hands of another but is not sure what happened to her, only that they have this strong connection.
Drucella Chapman is working undercover privately trying to infiltrating a ring of human traffickers. She has been undercover for two years and has gotten so deep that she is about to marry an evil man named Patrick Whitmore. She does not care about the cost to her, she only cares that the ring is broken up and Patrick is dead. Dru has her own psychic abilities; she is called a Psychometric, and can read the thoughts of those she touches and when she touches Patrick she sees the evil in his mind. Tucker is Dru’s outside contact and has helped her for these last two years.
Taylor Jones is Joss' boss and his wife Dez also works with the FBI, they all had some type of ability that helps with the most difficult jobs. Because Joss is a mirror, for this task force he needs several abilities and so is using one from Dez and one from Jillian a very powerful fourteen year old that is the daughter of another FBI agent, it was Jillian who got them involved as she "found" out about the women who were missing while on a family trip and could not get the images and voices out of her mind.
Joss finally finds Dru while walking one day and he stops her, they have this strong connection and it is after that meeting that they are able to connect mentally. He tells her about the past, something she does not remember or it was so painful she is suppressing the memories.
Joss goes undercover, posing as someone who finds girls for Patrick; they use FBI agents as the girls to infiltrate the compound and as they get closer to Patrick the danger increases for all those involved. While undercover Joss gets invited to a party and Joss and Dru officially meet and immediately assume the worst about each other, she thinks Joss is one of them and he thinks she is marrying a man that is evil and she knows it.
The present is catching up to Dru, Patrick is seeing through her façade. To make matters worse he also has an anonymous person calling him telling him they know about his ex-girlfriend who disappeared two years ago, he is running scared. So after one chilling night where Patrick threatens her, Dru has Tucker help her escape.
All parties seem to find the compound at about the same time, they know that Patrick is getting nervous so is going for damage control and will kill anyone that might hurt him. At first there is confusion about who is good and who is working with Patrick, so when Dru finds out Joss is with the FBI she is not sure what to think.
The danger to everyone escalates as they try to get the girls out of the compound while the guards are shooting anything that moves and yet the man everyone wants is not around. The fact the Dru desperately wants him dead leaves another dangerous mission ahead.
I really enjoyed this book, the characters are intriguing and the psychic element adds to the romantic suspense. The subject matter is disturbing and Ms Walker does well telling the story. This is the third in the series however I was not lost and although characters from the first two books are featured the flow of this book works. I recommend.
I heard a lot of nice things about Shiloh Walker and it is true that I was curious to discover one of her books. Here is the third volume of the FBI Psychics series, a series I did not know anything about but which was quite nice. I didn’t have any problems to understand the story or the characters. But it is true that we immediately understand that the previous volumes have featured Dez and Taige. We meet them a lot in this new volume, and I confess I was curious to see how they have each met their mate.
We find this time Joss, a man so atypical. He doesn’t have any specific powers, but he can use the gift of others when he needs to. Like a mirror. Since his youth, he seeks and dreams of one of his past lives, including a young woman he loved. Abandoning all hopes to find her, he always thinks about their past again and again. But his life will be turned upside down by his new assignment. He has to work undercover to bring down an underground slave ring where young women live in the most atrocious manner. But the power he has to take for this mission is not easy to master and it’ll take him in darker regions.
Dru works independently of any government and she has worked for almost two years to bring down the organization that uses women as slaves and sells them to the highest bidder. But becoming the woman she is not and living like that every day more, has affected her more than she would have thought. But as she doesn’t have yet enough evidences, she tries to remain what she should be. She is abused, followed, and handled in the worst way. But this mission had led her farther than she would have thought and she must now marry the man she wants to destroy. She does not really know how things went so far, but she hopes to finish the investigation before coming to such extremes. But Patrick, the terrible monster, is still very cautious of his actions, and even if Dru is able to read his memories, she fails to collect the necessary evidence. She would love to kill him, destroy him after all the things he did to her, but she can’t do much without losing everything she has worked so hard for. And when she met Joss, something in her wakes up, as if she knew him from another life.
Joss is a determined man. I was quite impressed to see that he had spent his life trying to fin a woman he does not even know. While our young heroine is rather suspicious, Joss knows they're meant to be together whatever she could say. Well, he is so obsessed by the woman he loved so much, and now she is here, it’s impressive. But Dru is focused on her mission to the point that it became her entire life and she can not compromise herself before finishing what she has started. It's really sad to see the person she has become in the hands of Patrick. But hope is reborn little by little and I enjoyed getting to know the woman she really was. The flash back of her past history was really exciting and I was curious to see what had happened to them centuries ago.
It was a pretty interesting story and I think I’ll try to read her other novels on occasion. I wonder if Tucker will be the next character to be featured and I'm curious to learn more about him!
Shiloh Walker is completely amazing me with this FBI Psychics series of hers. Each book is better than the last, but I have a feeling it’s going to take quite a bit more imagination for her to trump Joss Crawford and his amazing ability in this latest book.
Joss refers to himself as a mirror. He can take on other psychics’ powers as his own, retaining that uniqueness until the next time he’s mind-fucked. And believe him, it is a mind-fuck he goes through for each new job Taylor Jones, head of their unit, calls him in for. This latest assignment comes when Joss is scheduled for some downtime, something he desperately needs and has been looking forward to. But when he discovers it’s fourteen-year-old Jillian, Taige and Cullen’s daughter, who is a powerful psychic and he discovers just what the girl has been handling all on her own, Joss is all in to take down one of the biggest scum of the century.
It’s been two years since Drucella has been undercover to take down the evil slaver Patrick Whitmore – her fiance. She’ll do what it takes to free the girls he currently is holding prisoner to be sold and to give some justice to those whom freedom is too late for. Even if she has to marry the bastard to do it. Shielding herself from him is becoming more difficult, especially when she dreams such bizarre things that mean nothing to her and a man she’s never met. But yet…he’s familiar to her. Then the incredible happens when she comes face to face with a man who inspires trust, lust, desire, and so much more. But she can’t indulge in anything outside of her mission. The girls who are frightened and hurt, who have no future without her deserve more.
As Joss tries to acclimate to Jillian’s abilities, he suddenly has more than all that power and his assignment crowding inside his head. He’s finally found her, the woman who he’s waited for all his life, and then some. But Dru doesn’t remember him, so it’s up to him to make sure she does remember. However, it all goes to hell when they’re introduced to each other by none other than the man they’re both after. Dru wants the whole thing over with so she can return to England, get back to her life since the one she thought she might have now is no longer an option. Joss wants it all over with so he and Dru can talk, straighten this whole mess out. But they both have to survive what’s coming next.
And all of this is just brushing the surface of this book. Both Joss and Dru have so much to be cautious about during their missions, including their psychic powers, then add the re-emergence of their past life together, the raging desire to bring Patrick and his network down, this story never stops – even when you think the end has finally come. We get caught up with characters from the past two books and we meet a few new folks who will feature prominently in future books. This series is intense, suspenseful, imaginative, and one of the best I’ve read recently. Shiloh Walker is at her best with this series, and I thought she’d have a heck of time doing better than her Ash, Kentucky trilogy this darned quickly. Shows you what I know.
If The Reunited is your first introduction to Shiloh Walker's FBI Psychics series, then welcome to the club! I do suggest you go back and read the first two books because there is a little bit of tie in to the other stories, but for the most part they can be read as stand alone novels.
True to form, we've got a romantic suspense with some paranormal elements thrown in.
This book focuses on Agent Joss Crawford whose psychic ability is the fact that he can mirror someone else's technique. His boss synchs him up with two other psychics who have the abilities needed for the case but because they're women, would have been unable to get the job done. Joss goes into the ring undercover, hoping to bring it down. Throughout this case, he also deals with the memories of a past life and the woman he loved and lost.
Dru is a psychic as well and she's working independently to bring the ring down herself. In doing so, she's gone so far undercover that she's posing as the ringleader's fiance. When she meets Joss, for some reason she can't explain, everything about him is both familiar and horrifying when she realizes that he's working for her fiance.
Joss immediately recognizes Dru as the woman he lost but when he sees that she's engaged to the man he's trying to bring down, he tries to walk away thinking that Dru is just one of the bad guys. The two of them need to overcome their initial reactions and try to look deeper if they want a chance to take down this ring. If they can, they just might have a chance at the happiness that eluded them more than 100 years ago.
While I liked this book, it definitely wasn't one of my favorites. There were parts where it got a little confusing as to where you actually were--the present vs someone's memory of the past. I also think that Dru may have gotten herself in too deep too fast which is why she felt she had to allow Whitmore to think she was docile and the perfect trophy wife for as long as she did.
All in all though, Dru was a great, strong heroine who did what she felt was necessary to get the job done (again, even though I think she went about it the wrong way) and who beat herself up about it even after continuing to justify it to herself.
“Reunited” by Shiloh Walker is the mesmerizing romantic suspense title that continues her FBI psychics series that was started with “The Missing” and continued with “The Departed”. Drucilla Chapman has been living a dangerous role for far too long as she strives to bring retribution upon Patrick Whitmore. Special Agent Josh Crawford is strangely drawn to a particular gravesite but his psychic gifts don’t quite explain why he has such a strong connection to a young woman who died more than a century prior. He is startled to establish a connection with Drucilla, who has her own psychic abiities, even as he struggles to deal with the virtually impossible task of absorbing the powers of two different psychics. The struggle to destroy a human trafficking operation may cause far more damage to the two of them than they can bear but it may be a price that they are willing to pay in order to remove the evil overshadowing so many lives.
This contemporary romantic suspense story is an intense exploration of a war being waged both physically and mentally. The mesmerizing connection that forms between an agent in a very specialized segment of the FBI and a woman with her own formidable mental powers and resources is eerily explored as they also somehow relive past lives. The remarkable colleagues who pool their abilities in order to fight against a ruthless and conscienceless enemy must learn to cope with discoveries and memories in a poignant tale that flashes between two different lifetimes. I am always fascinated by the concept of psychic powers and the various characters who are delineated in this tale display a breadth of wondrous capabilities even as the emotional punch of their relationships keeps the reader invested in their lives. The author has deftly left plenty of room to explore the mysteries behind multiple characters even as she penned a breathless thrill ride that makes one cheer for the protagonists and root for the downfall of the evil villains. I look forward to reading more in this intriguing series.
I first discovered this series while reading the anthology HOT IN HANDCUFFS last year and was immediately drawn to it because of the psychic/paranormal element that adds just a touch of different.
Shiloh Walker can definitely write a good suspenseful book, and this was that! With the help of some psychic abilities, this particular division of the FBI is solving impossible cases. In this case, we are dealing with human trafficking and a bad guy who has no remorse in using, selling or killing.
My favorite thing, as I often say with Shiloh’s books, was the bad guy. Another completely crazy, creep that I couldn’t wait to see brought to justice. I loved seeing different aspects of him and learning to hate him for different reasons. Sounds mean. See the heroine of this book, Dru, has been working undercover for two years to bring this guy down. To get close, she’s been posing as his girlfriend and now fiance. To see the extent of how much he was able to break her down added another level of hate for the bad guy.
The case evolution is engaging and kept me interested the whole time. However, I did have times when I lost some of my interest. And those times were the actual connection between the H/h, the romance. This didn’t start clicking in for me as far as the romance went until close to the end. And I’m not even talking about figuring out the fact that there’s a subplot of reincarnation. I actually happen to find that very intriguing and I was excited when the possibility was first mentioned in the book. It brought back memories of when I was a kid and read ONLY LOVE IS REAL by Brian Weiss and how enthralled that story had me that I finished it in almost one sitting.
In the end, this was a great story. It was creepy when it had to be, scary when it was necessary and heartbreaking at times. And at the end, there is healing.
With such a heavy topic as human trafficking, I was worried that The Reunited would be a gruesome read. However, Ms. Walker handled a very horrible topic with decorum. She didn't try to shock the reader with graphic details and images, but brought to light the horrors of the situation. She gave the seriousness of the topic respect and did not sensationalize the problems.
One thing I really liked about this case was knowing who the target was the entire time. I enjoyed the thrill of trying to take down scum and worrying about how it would all play out and if everyone would survive rather than trying to figure out who the bad guy was. The “case” part of the storyline was well done - keeping me on the edge of my seat for most of the book. Ms. Walker has a talent for suspenseful storytelling!
Joss and Dru were both extremely sensual and hot together, but also aggravatingly frustrating. Dru was in a bad place - undercover for two years. But her constant flip-flop of emotions from fearful and whiny to determined was overwhelming sometimes. And Joss was a difficult character to follow during parts of the story. He had a lot going on in his head - being “sync’d” with two agents - one that sees/hears ghosts and another who had the memories of the captive girls and Patrick himself. In addition, he kept having flashbacks... it was a lot to follow at times. When Dru and Joss were in sync with one another, they were great; however, when they were not in sync, things were awkward and not as fun to read.
Overall, another enjoyable story from Ms. Walker. Even with the bumps I experienced along the way, The Departed is an exciting journey, full of suspense, personal growth, drama, and romance. Plus, the reader was introduced to new characters, a few that I think we’ll be reading more of in the next book, The Protected, coming September 2013!
It's a really good thing that when I really started reading this book I didn't have any other plans for the day. I don't think I would have been able to set it down for very long to get anything else done. I was so excited to be given a chance to read and review a book by Shiloh Walker, and I was not disappointed at all by her work.
FBI Agent Joss Crawford goes under cover into a very dangerous situation. He has a very special talent that is needed for this case. It is a total shock to him when he comes into contact with the woman he has a deep connection with.
Drucella Chapman has gone undercover to bring down a horrible ring that is kidnapping and abusing women in the worst ways possible. She has found a way to get the attention the of the "boss" of the ring and goes through some horrible things in order to get the "goods" on these people to bring them down. She is willing to do what ever it takes to make sure these people can not hurt anymore young ladies.
Both Joss & Drucella will do what ever it takes to end this horrible ring of terror. First they have to learn they are both on the same side and can trust each other. I loved how they were able to communicate with each other and the special link they shared.
The suspense in The Reunited had me clinging to the edge of my seat and turning the pages as quickly as possible. I could not wait to see how Joss, his team of FBI agents, and Dru were going to give these rotten people exactly what they deserved. Shiloh Walker has created some very fascinating, intriguing characters that I was completely captivated by.
I have not had the pleasure of reading the first two books in The FBI Psychics series but I was able to keep up just fine by starting with this one. I enjoyed this book in the series so much though, I would love to read the rest of the series.
Now that I have had the chance to read Shiloh Walker's work I know I would certainly enjoy reading more.
Aw yeah! Another awesome one from this series. This is slowly climbing the charts to be amongst my favourite series. This one was in some ways even better than the last one because of the whole past life thing. Normally, I'm not really into that, but I liked the way it weaved into the overall story here.
Obviously Dru and Joss are meant to be together, but have quite a few (BIG) misunderstandings to get through. At certain parts they're enemies, who are still into each other - and it totally works for them. And the bit at the amusement park - how adorable. These two characters together were quite the dynamo - and apart they're both strong as hell. Dru went through some pretty terrible stuff for this "mission" and I have to admire her for that.
The story was also great. What a concept - taking down a smuggling ring. Wow. I'm reading another series where that's the entire series. I'm impressed that these people managed to take them down in one book. (Yes, all my knowledge of smuggling and sex rings come from books or TV shows - I'm sure in reality it takes years). The plot was fast paced and lots of exciting stuff happened. I loved this one, just like I loved the rest of them. Can hardly wait to read book 4.
If you have not read this series you should start right away. While this is the third book they all stand alone just fine.
Here we have another romantic suspense with paranormal elements. Both Joss and Dru have their own abilities to work with. But can they overcome attraction, mistrust and other obsticles to end up working together to achieve the same goal?
Its a fast paced ride as we watch them battle their attraction while both working undercover to take down a human trafficking ring. The characters are well developed and have their own mysteries to figure out while figuring out how to complete the case and why they have such an intense connection.
Characters from the previous two books in the series make supporting appearances. They do manage to stay as supporting characters. It is great, however, to see them again and see where they are after their stories have taken place.
I really enjoy this series and am looking forward to reading more. If you are looking for a fast paced suspense this is one you dont want to miss.
I know that I read the first two books but the characters in this book were unfamiliar. Also I couldn't remember totally the plot of the other books and how it really relates to this story. I liked Joss and Dru. They were fiercely fighting to right wrongs in their own way using their skills but here's the kicker, Joss' talent is so messed up and it messes him up thoroughly. How the hell does he deal with it, I'll never understand. I think the chemistry between Joss and Dru was strong as hell and sweet at the same time. I like this story because the main perspective is Joss' even though the story it's self switches back and forth between these two characters. He is the one pursuing Dru and she doesn't give in. She has her own real struggles that aren't a result of the usual misunderstandings. I love when the heroine insists on keeping a sense of self and understands her needs well enough to stand by them. Yay, Dru!
This book was a little different than the usual Shiloh Walker style. It wasn't nearly as spicy, although there was a romance involved. The idea behind the plot line was interesting, but the constant point of view change was distracting and it made the action hard to follow. There were at least 10 points of view (maybe more)and the POV changed every couple paragraphs. If you put the book down for very long it was hard to remember what was going on when you picked it back up. There were also dream sequences and flash backs to a previous life which further added to the confusion. I liked Josh and Dru. I liked all the characters for that matter, it would just have been better to limit the number of voices. I'm a hugh SW fan so I gave this book 3 stars, if this had been by a new author I would not have been as generous. I've really enjoyed this series up until now and hopefully the next installment will be better.
Not quite as good as the first two. I got confused at times. I think with so many psychic readings on others and the time memories, I got lost a bit. There were so many people in the story and to switch their names from last to first and add in their undercover names/nicknames and the reincarnation names... it made it harder to follow. (I do not have photographic memory like our hero did.) Still, I enjoyed the story. Feels like Shiloh Walker wants to do more with the reincarnation aspect, the way Dru remembered her friend also being there the first time and saving her. I bet the next book is about him and the blond;) Sidenote: I saw no reason to overload our hero with major woowoo AND a side of ghosts. The ghosts should have helped the story along instead of just creating more head chaos for our hero if they were going to be included, but they didn't.
I found this one confusing, we were in the present, then the past, then there was all the flashing and getting to know what others had done. Often it wasn't marked clearly which is why I was confused.
I liked how the team worked together and loved that Jillian came to Jones. She knew she needed help with her gifts, but also knew that her parents wouldn't be very happy, especially her dad. I hated how her actions drove a wedge between her parents. I tended to agree with Tiage and was sort of glad that she froze Cullen out.
I couldn't believe what Dru/Ella did, she went above and beyond the call of duty with great personal sacrifice. I was glad how Joss treated her when she came clean.
