Mars is an informational texts that tells you everything and anything you would want to know about the fourth planet from the sun. The book talks about what Mars is made of, what kind of things scientist have found out about Mars, its orbit and the multiple Mars rovers. There are lots of pictures to back up the texts and lots of things you would find in a informational text such as diagrams, charts, a table of contents and a glossary.
This book is very straight forward and full of facts. Though it is a well written book the age it's targeted at may not find it too interesting. There isn't really a story or characters that a child could attach to but for kids who really enjoy space they would love this book. Though to kids the story may not be interesting the content is super accurate. This would be a good read aloud for a science teacher or as a research material for a young student studying space.
