Rate this book
I am Ook, Ook the book.
Will you stop and take a look?
You will see, I'm one good book!
This is no ordinary rhyming book. This is an introduction to twelve different characters including Ug the Bug, Ing the Thing and In the Twin. With fun, tongue-twisting rhymes and colorful illustrations, Ook the Book will have readers in stitches. And meanwhile, before they know it, young readers will become familiar with both the look and sounds of the little phonic parts that make up our written and spoken language. A perfect beginning book for budding book worms!

This is one of my new favorite books! It is a story of a bunch of mini poems all using different letter sounds and rhyming words!! Any young child, just learning to read would LOVE the silliness of this book! With poems like "y the fly" and "at the cat" this book is so creative and fun to read! This is such an essential to have in a Pre-K or Kindergarten classroom! Love it!

We were excited to recognize the author as a favorite from her regular series in High Five magazine! The rhymes were extremely basic, making this a great teaching tool for my pre-reader! We had fun looking at and hearing letter sounds and word building.

Ook the Book is just a funny and easy reading poem book that can be used in the classroom with the following GA standard, ELAGSEKRF2: a. Recognize and produce rhyming words.

Ook the Book as several words that rhyme. Have the students sit in small groups, each with the book or an poem from the book. Each group can have a different poem. Have them read the poem and point out which words rhyme. They can then get poster board and draw or paste the words that rhyme together.

This is a fun book of rhyming ditties that are fun and reminiscent of Dr. Seuss, though not quite as witty. It's a fun book to read aloud. Our girls enjoyed watching this book read aloud on the "Tumblebooks" online audiobook site (tumblebooks.com)

The book was a little too silly for me. The pre-school children however, enjoyed this book though during story time. Particularly the humorous illustrations & happenings throughout the tale.

This book is a fun way to learn different letter sounds. I like the rhymes and the fun little pictures and animals that go with each sound.

I watched/listened to this on Tumblebooks.

Silly nonsensical poems that are much fun! I just wish there was a rhyme for every letter of the alphabet. More, please!

An interesting short book where each double page has a wondrous spread of pictures and an accompanying short rhyme. Nice rhymes although some have to be said with an American accent! Fun and sweet.
