This collection includes short stories and personal essays, mostly dealing with the question of belonging. They explore questions of identity, nationality, and relationships between the generations. It’s a poignant, wistful book which draws you into different cultures in an intimate way. Most affecting is Minfong’s essay on the way her heart, hands and head all speak different languages.
