José Valentim Fialho de Almeida, known as Fialho de Almeida is a portuguese doctor and post romantic writer. Since 1893 he dedicated himself to journalism and literature.

His writting style is naturalistic, based on a strong perception of reality marked by strong emotions and city/ country side themes.

His published works include Tales (1881), Vice city (1882), The Cats (1889 and 1894), Pleasant Lisbon (1890), The Grape Country (1893) and Galiza (1905).
