yep, the anime made me read the light novel. when the anime cooks such a good schizoid mystery murder plot, I can't sit back and twiddle my thumbs weekly, dodging spoilers left and right. Believe this is the third light novel series I'm committing to reading long term, and I gotta say, the writing quality is rather low in comparison to Mushoku Tensei or S&W. It reads as a wattpad story with the prose sometimes, especially when it's trying to be schizo due to the story beats. It's not as easy to digest like Mushoten was due to this. The writing aside, I live for the plot twists that make you audibly go WHAAA-, this arc is full of those. Reid is such a sick character, at first a gimmick character but then something he does in the upcoming volume sets him apart to join the goats. This volume in particular is cute, because it's only now cashing in on the title in earnest. Subaru really does start from Zero, 23 volumes in. Looking forward to what's to come, and hope this arc keeps up its quality or goes even beyond.

So while this book definetly has its faults I overall didn't mind it as much as I thought I would. Its a change of pace however one I hope doesn't last too long. I did like Subarus inner conflict and confusion with the loss of memories, it felt interesting to read about the seperation he makes between the og subaru and himself now. And made for an interesting narrative, due to him hardly caring for characters the reader has grown attached to.
However I wasnt a huge fan of the Meili stuff, I felt more convoluted and there was already enough going on without Meili just joining subarus inner thoughts. Plus she doesn't feel like an important enough character for me, i would have preferred to see more interactions with the others. Especially Julius and Ram due to Subaru being the only one that remembered him and Rem.
I am interested where this is going though, I've I've relatively unspoiled for how this goes so I am looking forward to seeing the end of this arc!

Oh… my god…

This arc is insane and I am VERY excited to see it get animated (in, like, 8 years).

[SPOILERS]

This volume hit HEAVY for me. When the last volume ended with Subaru losing his memories, I was curious how the story would continue on with that, but it turned out WAY DARKER than I expected.

With the first volume of arc 6 having Subaru trying to brutally murder his friends due to the miasma in the dunes, I was already losing my mind and HATING reading it all (in a good way) for how sad it made me.

But watching this current Subaru, who has no memory of ANYBODY, steeling himself to kill all of his friends and even strangling a CHILD to DEATH, I had to pause for a second before I could keep going.

The final declaration at the end of the volume that Subaru would save everybody was my favorite part, especially since knowing the author, the final few volumes will be MUCH happier and nicer after all the dark and messed up things I just had to experience.

Arc 6 is officially my favorite Re:Zero arc.

UAU???????????????

E o final... MEU DEUS, que final maravilhoso. Dito isso 100000/10

More than anything, this volume shows how far Suberu has come over the series, as his loss of memories in effect resets him back to how he was in volume one.

Things get a lot darker than they have been, which says something since this whole arc has been pretty dark.

The reader is left to flail along with Subaru - although we know the other characters that he doesn't, there is still so much that we don't know about the tower, and the things that are happening in it.

This is a really well written book, however I didn’t enjoy the idea of Subaru forgetting his memories. I’m hoping it won’t last too long. I read on expecting him to get them back but no.

I kind of like how Meili has more of a story now. She’s finally being brought out of the background characters into the group.

His internal conflict really draws you in and makes you wonder what really happened to the other “corrupted” Subaru. I have my theories, I can’t wait to find out!

But who cares?

I was touched in all the right places. Seeing Subaru reverted back to his start of series self and put in a place where he's completely out of his depth and he has to try to figure out himself and the others is too good. And the last few chapters where all of that culminates in some of the most moving parts of the story yet? Yeah its that good

Crazy good, one of the most insane volumes yet, probably the best. I absolutely loved the mounting mystery and all the different interactions, so hard not to route for him even when he is going crazy. Great book.

Favorite book by far!! I would totally re-read. I loveddd the murder mystery aspect so much. And it was just kinda villain-y and creepy with the new Subaru.

Had to read this after today's Season 4 Episode 8. Wild. Higurashi vibes almost. The ending was great. I think everyone who is watching the new Season 4 shoudld read this as the book gets into Suburu's monologues.

a large part of what makes a story feel satisfying and addicting is constant progress toward a goal. you introduce new conflicts that prevent characters from reaching a goal, but, generally, you don't make them backslide more than a bit—it feels unsatisfying to a lot of people.

Subaru, with his memory lost, has all character development erased. everything we've ever seen him go through is set back to zero (hahaha.) effectively, Subaru is erased from the story. this isn't *the* Subaru—the one we've been following.

at the end of this volume, we're pretty much only back to where we were at the end of the previous. this entire volume just felt like running past the enemies in a souls-like so you can get back to the boss. granted, there were great moments and heavy emotions sprinkled throughout, but it largely just feels like we've made no progress at all.

I don't feel satisfaction at a well crafted volume, nor do I feel much excitement for the next volume. I just feel relieved that it's done.

Confession: Subaru is not my favorite character. Not by a long shot. There are a number of supporting characters I’d rather read about so the fact that this book was pretty much completely Subaru-centric was a minus for me. That said, I still enjoyed it (I would’ve just enjoyed it more if it wasn’t all about Subaru). It was weird and creepy and horrifying but kept me reading (even when I should’ve been going to sleep).
