Another Good One But...
The second in the "immortality" trilogy is another good story and sees the return of some old faces, some new faces and leaves a cliffhanger-and-a-half going in to book three. It's still very much in the action movie in book form style of Andy McDermott or Matthew Reilly and, for me, that's not a bad thing.
BUT
What the heck is going on with the spell checking on these things. For two books now the word "ears" has been replaced with "hears" and there are countless (well, undoubtedly someone has counted them because that's what Good Reads or Amazon reviewers do) other typos that pull you out of the narrative while you try and work out what it should have actually said.
Still, roll on book three...

Another great read from Rob Jones.
He's done it again. This second Joe Hawke book is as 👍 if not better than the first. In one review it is referred to as a book for men. Well, I'm a 70 year old woman and I enjoyed it immensely!! These stories should not be classified as being for one gender or another, they should be considered as books for anyone.

Still as fast paced and unstoppable !
The story lures you in, hooks you then leaves you with a cliiff hanger completely unexpected.
This second books continues with the same characters plus a few new ones.
Definitely onto the next book now

Thunder God puts Joe Hawke and the misfit crew in Shanghai hunting for the tomb of Ganges Kahn and the map of Immortality.
Unfortunately, there are some betrayals and those who lose their lives.

The last page with the writer saying how its escapism is slightly silly to me. All books are escapism but there's a difference between the dialogue being good and borderline cartoon and that's his. Ill finish the "trilogy" but probably be done after that.

I gave him a 5 because it is very fast paced, I didn’t want to put the book down. A little too much macho talk but I can get past it.

A bit samey as book 1, lots of editing errors but that could just be the kindle version. All action and keeps you reading but a little unbelievable, humans just can't do what Joe Hawke does. James bond fans will either love it or hate it.

The second in the series and the pace does not let up. We have the same old faces and a few new ones.There is a mega cliff-hanger leading in to book 3. Im glad to see that some of the characters are being fleshed out a bit and we are starting to learn a bit about their back story. These books along the same road and style as those of David Leadbeater, Andy McDermott and Matthew Reilly to name a few. Totally recommended and looking forward to lots more adventures from Joe Hawk and co.

Worth the read
This is a very enjoyable book to read. The characters are a little shallow but the action helps cover the missing depth. I am very disappointed with the lack of editing and proof reading. If a book is good enough to print take the time to get the errors corrected.
