Barbara is an authentic and eloquent woman who once walked across America, taking photos for National Geographic Magazine, and co-authored 2 international bestsellers about the experience.

Seven women she met along the way found a place in this heart-filled book.

I loved meeting these extraordinary real life heroes and you will too .

The women profiled were interesting. The author’s way of telling me about them was not.

I would give this book 100 stars if I could. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. The women featured are from all over the country, but every one of them is full of strength and love. It's a snapshot into days gone by, and the people who made this country the great nation that it is.
