For the most part I enjoyed this story and was happy with the slow (at least compared to the previous two books) development of the protags relationship. The stalker/serial killer plot was okay but the addition of the "totally irresistible" third just didn't work for me at all. I enjoy reading menage stories but this one came as a complete surprise and just didn't fit. Their "one night" of just sex should have stayed that way instead all of a sudden it's "true love" all around and they're planning a future together. I'm still shaking my head over that.
Another great series of books and i think i liked this one the best...a hottie threesome??..oh yes please..I loved Kyle...Trace grew on me and Ryan was just a hot little sweetie x
This is my favorite of the "Night" series by Ms. Logan.
Trace is a scarred (physically, emotionally and spiritually) Iraqi war vet who cannot pull his life back together upon his return home. Kyle is the owner of a martial arts studio (we met him in the previous "Night" book), a former soldier discharged unfairly under the DADT regime.
The two meet through Trace's twin sister Brodie, and bond over protecting her from a deranged killer.
The sex is hot between these two wounded warriors, and the interplay fun and very erotic.
Add in cute nurse Ryan, and the series ends on a very steamy note!
It helps to read these books in order, but you won't miss too much if you pick any of the three up out of sequence.
Give Ms. Logan a read - you won't regret it! Can't wait for her next effort. Comment
I couldn't put this book down! From the stark beginning with Trace being tortured to the happy ending with a somewhat unconventional but loving relationship between three men, I would DEFINITELY recommend reading this book.
The plot was good but the execution, oh boy! A few things that made me question the age of the author and whether someone actually read this book before it got the nod...(Spoiler alert maybe..) a detective responds to a call out for vandalism of a vehicle. He had no idea who the perpetrator was and therefore had no reason to be there except the author needed to introduce him to the case. Surely a uniformed officer could have read the note realized it was important, handed it in as evidence and this way introduce Ty(detective) to the case which would have made it a little more realistic. Then we get to the serial killer and it just gets worse. All the evidence points to Brodie being stalked by a serial killer yet there is no protection given to her by either her brother, best friend or even the police. Makes no sense at all. I'm one of many who don't really care for insta love in romances and this one really takes the cake. Kyle meets Ryan for the first time during a night out at a club with Trace and there's insta lust. By morning it is uproot the life that you have in another city and move in with me as I can't live without you kinda love! It's as if the author didn't have the patience or the inclination to work Ryan into the story so that the characters could get to know one another and then fall in love. It's not as if the author ran out of pages to work with as the story ended at 93% yet again on my kindle with the rest of the pages dedicated to upcoming books. Having said this I really liked all the characters but feel they would have fared better with a more skilled author.
Nothing about this book worked for me. The thing that stood out the most is that the writing is kinda awful. It really reminded me of bad fanfic. The plot starts with a marine with PTSD and veers into a serial killer story with the PTSD becoming an afterthought. Who the bad guy is, is painfully obvious almost immediately. Except to the main characters, cops and FBI. The entire character of Ryan is totally gratuitous and seems added just for a little extra sex. And the writing is so so so bad...
There's just too much stuff that's implausible, improbable or just doesn't make sense.
Oh my God is all I can say about thsi fabulous read. Ms Logan draws you in with her believable characters from the first few words. The prologue itself will have you sobbing into your tissue as you feel Trace's despair. It's a brilliantly written piece that will have you throwing your windows open during the sex scenes which, although graphic and hard-hitting, are still filled with the strength of these mens' feelings for one another.
The story was okay and would have been much better without the addition of a third "love" interest. It was nice watching Trace and Kyle develop their relationship then all of a sudden a one night stand was their long lost love. The author should have ended the relationship with the third after the one night. It did not enhance the story in any way.
Wow A stunning book.. this has it all that keeps you reading. I laughed with Trace and Kyle and cheered them on. Oh there's a little gorgeous suprise in this too that makes them complete. Hot scenes of Dom and submission and danger with a mystery of finding a bad guy. I purchased the audio of this and read along with the narratored of D. L. Mann who does a fantastic job.. Trace went through hell while being captured in a war zone.. He was the only one to be rescued. His twin sister tried to help while caring for there other sister..Trace suffered badly from PTSD , and he needed help with his drinking too.. Kyle watch his employee Brodie look run down. Kyle operating at karate studio and knew about Trace's problems. A house fire at Trace and Brodie causes a meeting for Kyle and Trace... Their fire and chemistry was set on a short fuse to ignition . But when danger is at hand and one of their lives is threatened there's no stopping events spinning.
Of the series this one had to be my personal favorite. The interactions between Kyle and Trace were steaming hot and melted me every time I picked up my nook! Add in Ryan and I could barely make a full sentence after reading! The back story of Trace tore my heart out and the serial killer made for great action. There was not one thing I didn't like about this one and it deserves 10 stars! Another winner Patricia!!
i liked trace and Kyle and how their relationship developed, however i just wasn't a fan of Ryan and his role in the couples life. i don't know how after sleeping with Ryan once and meeting him once that Kyle was happy for him to be part of his relationship. i can understand Trace, a bit, as he was his nurse and therefore already created a bond with him but i know i wouldn't wanted a stranger to be part of my relationship, not until i got to know him at least.
This story just didn't work for me. Not the storyline, or either the instant attraction between main coupled pair, Trace and Kyle, no, just, no. I wish it would.
