Excellent series, I am enjoying it immensely. There is a love triangle going on at the moment (this chick is crazy) she doesn't seem to know what she wants. The series is great so far.
Despite everything that’s happened to Josiah Reign over the past few years (loss of his parents and sister at once in a vehicular accident when he was in high school; discovering the actual existence of vampires, werewolves, and shapeshifters; losing his best friend and nearly losing his own life; becoming The Chosen of The Mani), he still remains a basically stable, even light-hearted individual, and an endearing character. He’s the type of person I would like to get to know if I encountered him in real life; really a good individual-not perfect, mind you, but “a good guy.”
In this third volume of Author Night’s most excellent Urban Fantasy series, Josiah is winging his way to Transylvania (no, dear Readers, by jet this time, not under his own newly-discovered powers) to be trained by the blue gnome of his visions, as he had earlier been instructed to and successfully accomplished, training Werewolf Carni Tommy, Josiah’s best friend forever. He has no idea what to expect, but for sure, whatever comes his way will be dangerous, enlightening, and a downright good read!
In this novel, Author Night takes the high road right into the territory of good vs. evil, and leaves the reader hanging off the edge of the cliff, waiting for Book Four! Powerful stuff!
Awesome I was highly impressed with the quality of the book and the intensity of the words its like you are the characters. You can actually feel that you are a part of the story. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a good book to read.
Josiah heads to Europe alone to train with Goshi, the Blue Gnome. While there he meets someone who almost makes him forget what he is there to do. Once he gets his head back on straight he finds Goshi and gets to work learning all that he can. When Goshi sends him home it is with a warning that Goshi will eventually go to him with a final test.
When Josiah gets home to Lena, Tommy and the others he has a few surprises to deal with. It seems that everyone has something that they now need to work through. When Josiah's final test does come, he gets a huge shock and does not know what to think about the situation. Lena also will have a test of sorts as she will have a choice to make.
I absolutely LOVED this book, but it is an H.T. book so I already go into the book knowing it will be great! Another reviewer said that Goshi kind of reminds them of Yoda and I agree. It does kind of have that feel to it. I think this book, the whole series in fact, is a MUST read. As it is with all H.T. books once I started reading this I could not put it down because I just had to know what was going to happen. I feel like I'm sucked into another world and I just don't want to leave. I definitely recommend reading but you do want to start with book one as things will be less confusing. I don't feel this an be read as a stand alone book as you will be lost if you don't start at the beginning.
I had just started the book and I just had to write this comment in my journal. At the end of the last book, Josiah had just told his girl that she was his world and almost as soon as he gets on the plane, he starts majorly flirting with the woman sitting next to him. It even says that he briefly forgets about her. Wow, some love story.
I couldn’t even finish this book, it was so boring and slow. Also, again with the outrageously choppy sentences and giving the readers more unnecessary play-by-play.
I can’t really believe that I even finished these books in 2012, of course I wasn’t reviewing books back then so I wasn’t really paying attention
The plot is a great idea, really it is but the execution just kills it. I’m sure if the writing had been much better, maybe proofread and edited, the book would have been amazing. The way it’s written wouldn’t even get a passing grade for a middle school paper.
It’s amazing what you learn about yourself when you go back and read a book you haven’t read in years
I'm invested with these characters in this world that H.T Night has created. When they have highs I have highs, lows, the same and this book didn't cease to deliver both highs and lows. It also added an element to the story that I wasn't expecting. The anger at Lena and her choices and also looking at the werewolf character of Tommy in a different light. I didn't expect to dislike them at any point, given all they had already been through but I found myself doing that. So kudos to H.T for adding that element into this story and keeping me interested. More then interested, almost excited to see just what would become of Josiah and Lena, as well as the other characters in their team of Mani's. I loved this both, like the two before it and cannot wait to read the fourth.
The main characters are transparent and one-dimensional and my 5 year old could have come up with a better plot. It's apparent from the beginning of this series that it was written by a fat hetero male with repressed homosexual tendencies who was undoubtedly socially awkward. The author has tried, with no success, to create a hero-like main character but instead has uncannily created the typical southern California Herb Jones... ya know, the douche bag that smells like polo sport, in his rainbow sandals and striped collared alligator logo shirt that hits on anything with a pulse after he's downed a few shots of yager. What a waste of .99 cents and a complete waste of time. Don't bother reading these books, they are absolutely horrid.
I have really enjoyed reading the Vampire Love Story series by H.T. Night and just can't seem to put it down. I picked up the 5 box series set pretty cheap and at the time I thought it was just going to be an okay series but I have really fallen for his writing style. In this book, Josiah heads to Dracula's castle to master his new "Chosen One" skills and to be trained by Goshi - a little blue man. The section of the book that followed Josiah's training was a little bit boring to me because there was no drama involved in it. However, once Josiah returned the drama began all over again. This is a really good series for those who are interest in the vampire/werewolf subject.
i think this author improves his writing skills just a little bit with each book. i liked it well enough to continue reading the series, but i do feel like so much is missing in the story. the author frequently takes you from point A to point D without touching on the points in between. the story just keeps skimming along the top as if the author doesn't want to have to do the hard work of filling in the detail. the vamp/wolf story is just different enough that it's unpredictable and surprising, although at times repetitive. some fabulously humorous lines tho. each of these books so far, with so much detail omitted, have been very quick reads.
Wow! What a horrible ending! I was thinking, really? You're just going to end right there? It felt like it ended in the middle of a chapter, it was so abrupt.
However, overall the book was a good, quick read. The Mani/Carni characters are interesting. Definitely not the best vampire romance series, but worth the read.
Oh, wow! Is it even possible for Josiah to have to deal with anymore crap? The Chosen One, is going through hell from all fronts. He's being thrust into his new life and being deceived by those that claim to love him and follow him. What is next on his agenda? If I were Josiah, I'd walk away from my "supposed" destiny and just live without the conflict and self-destruction.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I love the main character Josiah.. Josiah goes to train and when he comes back so many things change for him. HT Night again leaves us hanging on till the next book with this ending. Hurry up can't wait to see what happens in book 4 : )
Oh man all I can say is I am so glad I bought the box set. It would kill me to have to wait to see who Lena chooses! moving on the next! Awesome read, great fight scenes I can't wait to see what is going to happen next!
I liked this book. How did I know that there was something creepy about that gnome? Still loved how the training took place, and the big reveal as well. Josiah rules! I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
I had such high hopes for this series. The first book was good and I loved the twist on vampires and werewolves. But as the series went on the errors increased along with the eye-rolling lines. I'm disappointed.
I am enjoying this series. Each one is a book, not a novella. The writing is good and the story just keeps getting better. It's vampires and werewolves, just not like you're used to.
While reading this books there is lots of fun to be had. There were a lot of fight scenes, a lot of fun things, and most of all a lot of comedy! I great enjoyed the development of the main character. I definitely recommend reading this book!
This was a good continuation of the storyline. Definitely didn't see the last twist coming. Although i have never been a fan of cliffhangers, at least I already have the next book.
