Cansado de los torneos de artes marciales de Suruga y deseoso de ver sangre, Dainagon Tokugawa Tadanaka ordena a dos de sus hombres mantener un duelo a muerte con espadas para su regocijo. Los participantes son Fujiki Gennosuke e Irako Seigen, cuyas historias y misterios serán develados en este manga, Shigurui.

My god, Shigurui went all the way gory in this volume. Takayuki Yamaguchi has created such a beautifully narrated gorefest of detailed imnards, peeled skin and bloody cross sections. Think of the duel that happened in this volume as a mature version of the sick fight between Kenshin and Shishio.

And yes, I am not even halfway reading Shigurui. For the sheer gore and guilty pleasure fun I have experienced reading it, I give this volume five stars.

Did I mention the gratuitous nakedness in this manga? I don't mind a nice breast every now and again, but here it doesn't help the story in the least. Given the grave tone of the story, surely we don't need breasts getting in the way. The creator doesn't agree.

While Fujiki survives an assassination attempt, Irako and Iku go straight for Kogan. She distracts Kogan with a tattoo. Oh, and with her naked body, because it makes such an impact. Kogan is far from helpless. He even kills his own guards to get to Irako who is on the defensive at first. The two warriors strike at each other. Somehow, Irako emerges victorious. Oh, Iku is still around, still naked.

El dibujo sigue siendo muy interesante; las peleas, escalofriantes; y la historia de lo más confusa, y aunque este tomo vuelve repunta un poquito, esta serie se me desinfla cada dos por tres.
