Tough questions are on the minds of Christians and non-Christians. Does God really send people to hell? Doesn't science disprove Christianity? Why are there so many hypocrites in the church? Isn't the Bible full of errors? Cliffe Knechtle handles these and other tough questions everywhere he goes. He has a calling -- as an open-air evangelist for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. In this book Knechtle answers forty of the questions he most often faces. He deals directly with the hurts, doubts, struggles and conflicts of those who are searching. A graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Cliffe Knechtle gives clear, reasoned answers that satisfy both your heart and your mind.
Great book for apologetics. Knechtle uses great illustrations to create some great points. On the other hand, this book does show its age. I would love to see a more current rendition of the book to better suit today’s needs.
This is a simple but effective book. The author shares his answers to common questions he has encountered regarding Christianity in a straightforward and passionate way. He shares personal experiences and anecdotes, as well as many stories from the Bible to demonstrate the answers he provides. His answers are powerful and direct - there's no beating around the bush here! It certainly gave me things to think about.
I've seen many videos of Cliffe Knechtle on college campuses, answering a wide variety of questions from all levels of believers and non-believers. This book is a good introduction to Christianity from the viewpoint of a man who understands the reservations many people have about it, and about religion in general. For an open-minded person who is seeking information on how to approach God, this is a very good place to start.
Cliffe has compelling arguments for the fairly generic but tough questions that he covers in this book. Very easy to read and Cliffe’s writing is extremely easy to comprehend. Definitely worth the read.
This book is a compilation of questions asked of the author regarding Christianity, and the author's subsequent responses using the Bible as his reference. The responses, though simplified at times, tend to lean towards showing the simplicity of the truth found in Christ and God.
