Donal Dorr, an Irish Catholic priest who worked for years in Africa brings out spirituality in a very practical way. One of the best things about this book is the exercises he offers for groups at the end of each chapter. Overall he seeks to present a holistic view of spirituality that is both inward and outward, both "spiritual" and justice seeking; and I think he succeeds quite well. While his examples are somewhat dated (the book was written in like 1989), the message he gives is still quite strong.
