It was okay... hard to follow. At times, very technical, then she'd switch into narrative that had little to do with what was just explained.

As a certified academic language therapist who works with dyslexic children, I think this book is important. Most people don't really understand what dyslexia is, much less how dyslexic people survive (or in some cases thrive) in our society. Weinstein not only explains dyslexia to the layperson, she also describes how a reading therapist successfully helped David to read and his mom to love him well through the process. A journey from anxiety to hope. A great read.

This book contains a lot of information about dyslexia. I think any person thinking about becoming a teacher and focusing on reading should take a look at this book, because it shows that dyslexia is really about more than switching the order of numbers and letters.

Story of a mother and her son as they battle dyslexia. Told from both points of view. Good information on dyslexia.
