I missed commenting on this book, but it was probably my least favorite Swindoll book. First, it was on Psalms, which don't lend themselves to commentary by a master storyteller. Also, I read it over such a long period of time, it began to drag.

Nothing extremely profound but classic Swindoll as he uses the Psalms and Proverbs to bring practical advice. I like his emphasis on word studies throughout the book. This is volume 1 of a 2 volume set.

Swindoll does another solid job in his study and application of many psalms and proverbs. He often does word studies to bring out the meanings of the passage. I gained some helpful and interesting insights through this material. A helpful tool in supplementing one's devotionals or sermon study.

Finished reading the book. This book by Swindoll is easy to understand, with the Psalms and Proverbs helping readers to deal with the grinds of life that come their way every day. Very good book to read! I wish to get the second book.

I'm becoming a huge fan of Chuck Swindoll. His books have helped me through some difficult times. He has a very empathetic way with issues relating to anxiety, stress, and depression.
