Malek and Halleigh were once innocent high-school sweethearts, but their lives changed drastically when they were separated by tragic circumstances and sucked into life on the streets. Now Malek has risen to the top of the drug empire and is running things after Jamaica Joe's murder. His rival, Sweets, has left town, so Malek has things under control on both the South Side and the North Side. When Halleigh finally escapes from the clutches of Manolo, her pimp, she and Malek are reunited. For a while, things are running smoothly, and Halleigh and Malek are like well-respected hood royalty—until Halleigh grows bored with her life hidden safely away in the suburbs. She ventures into Flint and meets up with her old drug-using partner, convincing him to enter the new rehab facility—the same place that's cutting into Malek's business by helping his customers get sober. To make matters worse for Malek, Sweets has returned and wants to take over his side of town again. As he struggles to hold onto his reign at the top, will Malek be able to keep Halleigh out of the crossfire?
The flint collection has got me so hooked. I am awaiting the rest of the series and cant wait to find out what happens. The books are very short a sweet very good read !!!!
This series is great and for me to say that is unbelievable. I do not like books that are series. They go on and on usually losing something by the second book and even worse by the fourth or fifth one. But I can see that I will miss Halliegh and Malek when I get to the last of this series....but oh well, let's not worry about that right now, on to the next one.
These books are really short. The series could have been written with three books instead of seven. I skipped book two and felt like I didn’t miss anything. Some of the stories with in the series were left unfinished. For example, why didn’t Malek follow back up with finding Gary? He could have called the leasing agent to get some contact info on who was renting the building. He could have also gotten information from the lady that rented out her home for a month. In addition, Malek had a lawyer but the lawyer didn’t advise him to actually open legit business that he could run after he got out the game. A lot of things were unrealistic, like Malek not having a bank account and Malek giving Halleigh money to go shopping when he was broke. Another thing that didn’t make sense was Malek was skeptical about Mitch’s partner when he first put him on, why didn’t he have the same sense about Mitch. At one point he had red flags when it came to Mitch when they ran up on Sweets but why this one time he didn’t follow his instincts. In addition, he was ready to kill Mitch when he heard Halleigh’s voicemail but that situation just disappeared in the book. Why would you leave your empire to Mitch when Halleigh told you something was up with him? He didn’t even try to find out. I didn’t like the way the series ended. There could have been other ways for the book to end. Malek and Halleigh could have skipped town, Malek could have set up Scar and his brother. Why introduce all these new characters and end the series with unfinished stories? On top of that why have the police so interested in Malek when there was a bigger drug dealer in town, which seems suspicious by itself.
Malek Is So Wrong For Making Halleigh Stay Away From The Only Person That Helped Her And Was There For Her 100%. Tasha Is A Good Friend. He Is Only Thinking About Himself Not Understanding That She Was All Hal Had. But I Guess Hal Wanted Her Man More. I Love That Hal Is Helping Scratch Because Tasha Helped Her When She Was Going Through Her Drug Addiction. Malek Is Doing Shit All Wrong He Gonna End Up Dead Not Following Jamaica Joes Ways.

These books are so short it all could’ve been a full novel. Also tired of author recapping of previous book. By doing that we getting half of a half 😂. Story is being dragged even though it a good storyline! Haileigh getting in my last nerves whining for Malik to keep promising to always take care of her.
I cannot get enough of this series! As always, just when you think Hal and Malek are gonna live happily ever after.. tragedy strikes! This series is Treasure Hernandez's best work. Some of her other books had me iffy.. but this series makes me enjoy her as an author. Ready for book 5 already!
I like each one of these books but I really wish they had a woman speak the female parts. It sounds really funny when this man has to switch up his voice.
Wow wow wow. Luxury luxury luxury! Malek and Halleigh finally got together living a notorious life. Halleigh will always have a heart to help people out of their past experience and life. It did cost her though.. will it cost Halleigh her life, her baby's life, her mother's life or even Malek's life? I can't wait to read book 5! Malek should be smelling rats up in his house... especially one close by who have had relations with Halleigh... the mystery will unfold in Back In The Hood. Ever happened what happened to Tasha? Lol wish me luck to handle this rollacoaster drama. I guess the couple did start from scratch, ended up as dirt all dead and then with luck, they resurfaced and resurrected
I'm getting a little tired of the whole halleigh/mallek drama and hope that they get their shit together. The ending has me keen for the next book though!
